7 am: Wake up and get the kids ready for school
-
7:45 am: Home from drop-off, got my coffee (a decaf Pecan crunch from Starbucks, reheated from yesterday 🫤) and working from the couch today by the fireplace. Still not feeling quite 100% from my upper respiratory infection, so taking it easy. Curled up with my Macbook, mySpotify morning playlist, and the coziest blanket ever to do my morning routine.
- I use Toby to open all the same tabs every morning to do my start-up ritual

- I use Toby to open all the same tabs every morning to do my start-up ritual
Check calendar, emails, daily sales tracker, Clickup tasks for the week, answer helpdesk tickets, respond to Slack messages
-
Took a quick 5 minutes to go post about this in the Slack channel to remind people it’s happening this week!
-
Quick review of the daily sales from the weekend reveals a pretty slow, quiet weekend: $328 total. Not bad for not working at all, but also well below my daily sales goal.
-
Answering emails, Helpdesk and Slack messages using one of my fave AI tools, Ellie Email Assistant. This is the sister brand to Leave Me Alone, which I use to get to Inbox Zero every single day.
-
8:28 am: Through with my morning routine, now checking in on a few quick things I need to wrap up:
-
Double check MBA emails that are being sent out today for our Birthday Sale and check party registration numbers (we’re up to 47 registered). Register here if you’re not already!
- Realize I need to add an email in that’s more specific to what we’re going to be talking about at the birthday party. Add to today’s to do list.
-
Confirm final details on new copy updates to the MBA sales pageand make sure mobile view looks okay.
-
Confirm final details on making PitchFest a standalone evergreen product in the shop now. Need to add a few more testimonials.
- Thinking I should send an email to all MBA and Painless Publicity folks to let them know this is now included for free in their portals. ✅
-
Thinking I should send an email to all BTS folks to remind them we’re live here too. ✅
-
Adding our new Inbox Insights client to the spreadsheet I use to run an AppScript every week so clients get their recurring email.
-
-
9:20 am: Break for breakfast: sausage and egg wrap with a decaf earl grey tea, honey and a splash of milk.
-
9:30 am: Start working on my slides for the Birthday Party tomorrow. Getting sick last week has me a bit behind schedule, but it’s going to be really informal and fun tomorrow, so I’m not too worried.
-
10 am: Walk around my neighborhood while chatting with my friend Liz. Got in a solid hour of walking! And worked out some family drama stuff. Win!
-
11 am: Get ready for the day, listen to Summit + Bundle Success private podcast feed. Wonder if I should add private podcast feeds to my courses?
-
11:15 am: Back at my desk now, moved to my office and my big desktop screen, which will be easier to design slides on. For now, just checking emails and odds and ends before therapy starts.
-
11:30 am: Therapy on Zoom. I am OCD with panic disorder and PTSD and regular therapy is a must for me and my busy, anxious brain. We do a lot of brainspotting and EMDR, in addition to CBT and talk therapy.
-
12:30 pm: Answering a few Videoask questions that came in about MBA.
-
12:47 pm: Lunch break: watched King of Queens while I ate leftover pho.
-
1:10 pm: Sitting back at my desk to work on the slides for tomorrow’s birthday party….got distracted, ended up dealing with a KKCredit issue for someone who wants to use theirs towards MBA….okay now seriously going to work on the slides…it’s 1:33 now.
- Just kidding, got interrupted with a phone call at 1:38.
-
1:55 pm. Third times the charm? Sitting down again to work on slides. Putting on my Productive Instrumental Playlist.
- Whew! Worked on that for 2 hours! But almost done now, super productive and focused and I’m pumped to share what’s working to create daily sales without social media. Ready for a break!
-
3:52 pm: Trying to decide what I want to do for my break… ending up not taking a break at all and just poking around email, Slack, helpdesk, etc.
-
4:04 pm: Okay really going to take a quick break now. 5 minute walk around the block at least.
- Ha! Went out to get the mail and got my quarterly royalty check frommy cookbook that came out in 2016. $53.99 baby!
-
4:10 pm: Check in with ClickUp… this is a weird week because of me being out sick 3 days last week. I’m off my normal Monday routine and working a bit more than usual.
-
4:15 pm: Filling in my Weekly Update Form for Collective Momentum
-
4:25 pm: Realize I don’t have my email ready to go out tomorrow morning before the birthday party, so going to write that up real quick! I have other emails scheduled to go out, but not tomorrow morning’s…oops!
-
5:19 pm: Finished writing tomorrow’s email and shutting down shop for the night, answering another VideoAsk question that came in. My kids should be home soon and I gotta figure out what’s for dinner… I’m feeling take out…still not quite up for cooking after being sick, and my appetite is weird now too.
-
5:34 pm: Waiting for the kids to get home and scrolling through tattoo inspiration photos on Pinterest (I got my first one a few weeks ago and am already ready for more!), while watching Menkse’s AI assistants live webinar.
-
6-7:30 pm: Playing with the kids, watering the garden, and walked up the street to get dinner with Gem. Live band was playing at the food hall so we jammed out for a bit to Stevie Wonder covers. Mattie is putting them to bed now. We alternate nights for bedtime.
-
7:41 pm: Trying to decide what to watch. We just finished MONSTERS about the Menendez Brothers which was really well done. Thinking we might start Season 2 of Shrinking on Apple+, but Mattie has an ear infection and I’m half expecting him to go straight to bed after the kids are down. In which case, I might watch It Ends With Us. Anyone have any good recs?
-
Ended up watching 2 episodes of Shrinking with Mattie. SO good, I love this show so so much. Heading up to bed now. Will keep reading Liane Moriarty’s new book until I fall asleep. Nighty night! 😴

7 am: Wake up and get the kids ready for school. It was a rough morning, Gemma was crying from the second she woke up (just one of those days, no real reason for it… I get it, but dang if it isn’t hard when it’s someone else). They bickered in the car about who gets to get picked up first, as right now they’re at different public elementary schools about 2 miles apart (our zoned school doesn’t offer pre-K, so Gem has to go somewhere else until she can join Jackson next year; they’re 1 grade apart), and anyway long story short, it’s just so hard to start your day like that. Crying, yelling, all basically about nothing. Whew, I’m exhausted already.
-
7:45 am: Stop at Kroger to pick up groceries I ordered on Sunday but got delayed. My ADHD husband was supposed to pick them up yesterday but forgot twice, so here I am. Caught up on Voxer with some friends while I was driving. Chatting newsletter swaps with my friend Tarzan, working 1:1 with my friend Leigh (who also has a high-traffic blog and a shopify store, so we also traded some stories around that) and collaborating with my friend Cat in 2025. Unloaded groceries when I got home and decided I needed to move my body and work out some of the frustration of the morning.
-
8:15 am: 25 minute strength workout on Youtube (I did this one). I usually do 2-4 days of resistance training with weights every week, but since I’ve been sick, I’ve been leaning towards slower, low-impact workouts. This was perfect.
-
8:45 am: Meditate (I didn’t do a guided meditation, rather just laid on my yoga mat and let my mind wander, almost fell asleep).
-
9 am: Start morning start-up ritual on treadmill desk. I’ve had a NordicTrack for 1.5 years now, but just recently got a desk attachment so I could walk and work. It’s been such a great way to get movement into my day and I love doing my morning routine on here. I usually walk between 2-3 mph depending on how I’m feeling that morning. This morning, I’m moving slow so I’m keeping it a 2.3 mph. Listening to this playlist.
- Ok it’s 9:17 now and I’m just starting my routine as I was writing the above first.
- Alright, 9:57 morning routine done. 2.1 miles walked. Going to go get some breakfast and sit down at my desk to write.
-
10 am: Made my coffee (Gorilla decaf with Vital Proteins Collagen, Acacia Fiber and hazelnut creamer). Protein and fiber are super important for my PCOS and insulin resistance in the morning. And I’m not usually hungry for breakfast until later. So this works for me!
- Ice rolled my face with this while I waited for coffee to brew.
- Spray on this post-workout, antimicrobial cleanser afterward.
- Making a mental note that I need to call my pharmacy to fill a new prescription my endocrinologist wants me to start for insulin resistance. It’s a lot to manage all the meds, supplements and lifestyle things I need to do to manage my chronic illnesses (OCD, PCOS, insulin resistance, and hypothyroidism). Right now, I’ve been seeing a new concierge endo, whom I love and spends an insane amount of time with me, and I’m just trying to fully hand over the reins, trust the process and let his new treatment protocol do what it’s going to do. I spend much of my free time researching my conditions and trying to figure out how to feel better, and it’s added to my stress and probably made things worse.
- Making another note I need to schedule my lab order as I started HRT (estradiol patch and progesterone pills) about 6 weeks ago and my doc wants to see how things are progressing.
-
10:16 am: Sitting down to respond toInbox Insights clients, one of my favorite parts of the week.
-
Brain dumping a few other things I need to do today before the birthday party so I can really focus on Inbox Insights without thinking about these things:
- Finalize the slides and do a quick run-through
- Respond to some intake forms, check in forms and questions in the helpdesk
- Submit to Luisa’s Soulful Scaling Summit
- Shower, ha!
- Finalize last emails for the birthday party promo that will go out tonight and tomorrow.
-
-
10:32 am: Responded to the first 2 clients, now getting sidetracked by a Vox that came in from one of my affiliate partners who can’t find the link she needs. Going to help her.
-
10:36 am: Back to Inbox Insights… so many of these clients mentioned their accountability groups from MBA being super helpful and I love hearing that. A perk of MBA that I need to remember to mention at the birthday party today for sure.
- Feeling nauseous so putting on my Productive Instrumental Playlist while I write so I don’t get too in my head about this.
- Sharing a screenshot here of what Inbox Insights looks like for anyone who is curious. This was our first email to a new client:

-
11:21 am: Finished Inbox Insights emails and now going upstairs to shower.
- Had a great call with Rachel on my team while I got ready today. Then blow dried my hair and ate lunch while watching King of Queens.
-
1:15 pm: Back down at my desk. Need to check in with the slides before our party in 2 hours.
-
2:14 pm: Slides are ready to go. 45 minutes until we go live. Checking in on the Slack channel, and poking around Kartra for a sec…we’re up to 88 registrants for the birthday party now.
- Just sent a reminder email to all BTS folks to get them in here. Would love to get some interaction from y'all with questions or ideas or anything that's coming up for you as you read. Is this helpful? Do you want to see more or less detail anywhere?
-
2:26 pm: Going to work on emails for tomorrow for the next 20 minutes and then get in the zone to go live!
-
2:45 pm: Email scheduled for tomorrow morning and I’m touching up my makeup, going potty (tell me you’re a mom without saying you’re a mom) and testing tech one final time before showtime.
-
3 pm: WE’RE LIVE!!
-
4:25 pm: Birthday party complete, gotta hop over to my peer mastermind call that I’m now late for even though I shut down the party early and didn’t get to my BTS product tour. I’ll have to record that tomorrow instead.
-
5:10 pm: Finished up with my amazing peer mastermind who I adore so very much, and now writing a quick email to send out the replay of the birthday party tonight.
-
5:44 pm: Signing off of work for the day, after I do a quick check of email/slack/voxer, etc.
-
6:01: Kids are home, time to go carve pumpkins!
- Spent the evening with the fam, playing, making dinner, watching Bluey, then Matt took the kids up for their baths and I got dinner ready for the adults. And by “got ready” I mean ordered pizza and salads and plated it when it arrived. ;)
- Kids usually go up for bed around 7:30 and are down by 8 after books and songs, but Gem was not feeling it tonight and it took several rounds of both of us going up and down with her until almost 9.
-
9 pm: Watched 2 episodes of Shrinking. I love this show sooooo much. They don’t make dramadies like this much anymore that are LOL funny and also poignant. Except Nobody Wants This, which was amazing too! 100% my style.
-
10 pm: Up to bed, read my book for a few minutes before falling asleep.

6 am: Woken up by Gemma, crying that she couldn’t find her baby shark coloring book I promised to leave out for her and that Mattie had cleaned up the night before not knowing. Got her settled and went back to sleep until my alarm went off at 6:45.
-
7 am: Up, getting kids breakfast (Matt gets them dressed, while I get myself dressed, then I come down feed them and take them to school. Mattie does pickup). The Fair Play card deckhas helped us divide and conquer so well.
-
7:45 am: Stopped at Kroger to restock waffles and yogurt and got myself a Starbucks. Really loving their new Pecan crunch latte. Decaf, always! Sat in my car after for a bit checking email and then responding to some Voxers from friends.
-
8:35 am: Home, unloading groceries and my friend Liz called so I talked to her for half an hour and got on my treadmill for most of it.
-
9:06 am: It’s another workday. I’m just getting started for the day by filling in from where I left off last night.
-
9:14 am: Caught up in this doc, now going to start my morning start-up ritual. Listening to this playlist again which I am LOVING. So fun!
- Approved 3 new affiliate applications, yay!
- Phone is blowing up with shop sales for the 9-gridthat my friend Kate Ahl is promoting to her list right now. So fun!
- Excited to see my first affiliate payout for DCA 2024 just hit my bank account today. $10,147.00 baby!
- Got an email from Fathom Analytics that today is the last day of my trial, so I need to decide if I want to pay $15/month for this or stick with Google Analytics. But I hate GA4 so much. And Fathom’s customer service is AMAZING, and I really like how simple it is. Though I did go through this course from SEO Kitchen to better understand GA4 and it helped a lot (I got it free in Lizzy’s Christmas Party last year)… decisions, decisions!
- Got interrupted as Mattie came down to talk with me about a counseling appointment we have this afternoon. Yay family drama!
-
9:56 am: Answering helpdesk tickets now. There are A LOT due to the MBA flash sale.
-
10:20 am: Finished the helpdesk and moving over to Gmail for some 1:1 outreach from folks who have submitted forms and questions. Actually I feel like I need to get off my treadmill to properly write now. Plus I gotta record the BTS product tour of MBA to send out this afternoon. Got to 3.85 miles this morning at 2.5 mph.
- Made another cup of decaf and heated up a sausage, egg and cheese eggwich, which I’m now devouring with ketchup. Yes I put ketchup on my eggs, what of it?
- Ice rolled my face again while I waited with this followed by this post-workout, antimicrobial cleanser.
-
10:38 am: Breakfast complete, ready to look at my day and make some plans. Making myself a little to do list here so I can share with y’all.
-
Record BTS product tour
-
Write 2 more emails to send out today for flash sale
-
Grant KKCredit to Casey for submitting shop review
-
Attend Rachel’s webinar at 12
-
Family therapy at 1
-
1:1 outreach to my MBA pipeline
- Prior 6BFA student offer?
- BTS student offer?
- Anyone who’s watched the replay or attended live
-
-
10:55 am: Answering a question from someone who joined MBA using Klarna and didn’t get access. This is super exciting, the first time someone’s used Klarna and it’s great because I get paid in full, and the customer gets an affordable payment plan! Win win!
- Now see that we have several people who have started transactions with our Buy Now, Pay Later options that weren’t finished, so reaching out personally to them to see how I can help.
-
11:15 am: Recording the BTS product tour of MBA. Now I need to go edit it as I stumbled over my words several times 🤦🏻♀️
-
12:19 am: Finished the BTS tourand scheduled the email to go out in half an hour. I finished up while attending Rachel’s webinar and now I need to go get ready for the day.
-
12:47 pm: Just poking around a bit and prepping for our counseling session. Still listening to Rachels’ webinar too. Inspired and made a cup of chamomile tea to help me stay calm. Grabbing a handful of nuts to give me some energy for this call.
-
1 pm: Family call.
-
2:30 pm: Lunch with Mattie. Leftover pizza. Hugs.
-
3:13 pm: Back at my desk, checking in where things left off. All over the place, checking email, slack, helpdesk, etc.
-
3:30 pm: Realized when I was recording the BTS product tour that the real self-care course was missing from MBA so going to add that real quick.
-
3:42 pm: Adding an FAQ to the MBA sales page about what coaching and support is included as we’ve received a lot of questions about this.
-
3:55 pm: Need to write the cart close email. I’m not normally doing things this last minute for a launch, but being out sick last week has me off my game. Interestingly, it hasn’t been stressful though and has given me an opportunity to see what questions people are having and adjust my messaging as we go.
-
5:04 pm: Ooooh I’m so proud of the email I just wrote for our cart close. It feels so aligned and I can’t wait to hear what y’all think of it.
- I have to do pick up today as a favor to Mattie so I gotta set up one coupon for a KKCredit user to join MBA and then I’m headed off to school.
- Let the kids play on the playground at school until 6:15 because it’s so lovely outside. Nothing better than a cool Fall evening.
-
6:30 pm: Back home, and get a splitting headache. I think I’m dehydrated, so Mattie makes me a LMNT water(orange, grapefruit and citrus are my faves!) and I rest on the couch for a bit. My sweetest boy Jackson comes over to cuddle me. Within a few minutes, I feel better and we watch Youtube videos about how to draw Sonic together as we both draw on our own papers. This is one of Jackie’s favorite things to do and he’s such an amazing artist. I love seeing his creative side.
- Eat a big salad for dinner and get the kids ready for bed.
- Mattie’s turn to do bed time. I check in on my phone to see how the Flash Sale is winding down and am disappointed when I realize the last cart close email I sent didn’t go out with the edits I made to it. It’s still good, but I’m bummed that extra work didn’t make it in and don’t know how that happened. Ugh!
-
8:10 pm: Kids are down, and Mattie and I watch Nobody Wants This. I already watched the whole thing by myself but he wants to see it now too and I loved it so much, so am happy to watch again. Especially as I’m half watching and half on my phone answering some last minute questions.
-
10 pm: Up to bed. Read a few chapters before falling asleep.
-
$10,147 for DCA affiliate payout (I’m generally not tracking affiliate income here because I have dozens of partners and it’d take me all day, but since this was a big lump sum, it’s easy enough to include).
-
$0.70 : PitchFest
-
$3.50 : Painless Publicity
-
$7.00: 2 sales of Evergreen Funnel Formula
-
$14.00: 3 sales of Simple + Sustainable SEO
-
$97: The Room: Weekly Group Coaching Calls
-
$115.80: 14 sales of Beyond the Scroll: How to Create a Static 9-Grid (with Templates!)
-
$194: 2 sales of Inbox Insights
-
$18: 2 Launch Lab sales
-
$3,357: 7 Mindful Business Academy sales (many used KKCredit or did the payment plan)
-
2 free trials to The Room: Weekly Group Coaching Calls (will be $97/month after 2 week trial if they continue
NOTE: So in total, we got 13 MBA sales during this Flash Sale. Not bad for giving people 2 days notice for the webinar and doing this as an email only launch. That’s $13,344 in accrued revenue, plus 42% of buyers added on The Room calls, so our upsell converted REALLY well. And if all those people stay in The Room, we just added $485/month in recurring revenue. And I’m personally so genuinely happy to have more folks to serve in The Room. It’s such a sacred space for me.

6:45 am: Wake up to “Happy Halloween” from Gemma, so so cute. Until she melted down about wearing a tank top under her Belle costume to school. 10 minutes and many tears later, we grabbed a cheese stick and ran out the door to school.
-
7:45 am: Stopped at Green Beans for a Fall Spice decaf latte after drop off.
-
8 am: Back home and catching up on Voxer messages from the past week.
-
8:30 am: Throw on some concealer and tinted lip balm and head back out to go to Gem’s Halloween parade at school. Continue catching up on Voxer.
-
9:17 am: Back in the car and notice that I’m feeling some urgency around work today. I don’t want to work tomorrow but with Halloween today, and I have to make something for our neighborhood potluck party tonight, I’m already feeling behind. Decide the best thing to do when I feel like this is actually to slow down and chill. So I head to Target to grab a few things and end up perusing and relaxing for half an hour. Talk to a friend on my drive home, then get everything unpacked and heat up a slice of pizza for breakfast ;)
-
10:21 am: Finally sitting down at my desk. Starting by catching up on where I left off in this doc yesterday.
-
10:34 am: Starting my morning routine now, that will also involve updated the revenue section here for yesterday, which takes me longer than usual since I’m breaking it out by product and not just overall revenue.
- Booked a strategy call with Monica Froese, my Shopify mentor.
- Noticing that my shop revenue is up lately too and thinking how cool it is that even when I’m launching MBA/doing a Flash Sale, it’s actually also helping me make more sales in my shop. Meeting people where they’re at. And a reminder that everything sells everything, as my mentor Lizzy Goddard says.
-
11:14 am: Did my Profit First Transfers. Every Thursday I transfer money from my Income account, which I have with Chase, to my OPEX account, which I have with Relay, along with all my other Profit First accounts. I love their auto-transfer rules, so I don’t have to even think about it. Here’s what I have set up currently.

-
This is reminding me that I have my tax plan from my CPA waiting in my inbox for a week or two now and I need to get back to her and make an estimated payment. I suppose it’s time for another to do list:
- CPA tax plan review + make payment
- Respond to some intake forms, check in forms
- Submit to Luisa’s Soulful Scaling Summit
- Submit training for Liz’s Blogger Breakthrough Summit (this is due tomorrow, yikes!)
- Write WSL (I usually do this on Wednesdays but my week is just off still with being sick and the flash sale).
- Send out email for Happy Mama Bundle
- Respond to comments in this Google Doc
- 1:1 Call with client
- Make potluck meal
-
11:29 am: I’m going to start with making a quick shopping list for the potluck so Mattie can run out and get what I need while I’m working on other stuff. Ugh, so much to do! Feeling overwhelmed. I just need to do one thing at a time and start with what is urgent and important, has to be done by ME and cannot be automated.
- Okay grocery list made, handed off to Matt
- Emailing Liz now to ask for an extension
-
12:16 pm: Ahhh, my best friend since I was 6 called and we’ve been playing phone tag for ages, so I had to answer and talk to her. 37 minutes later, I’m back to writing Liz for an extension.
-
12:19 pm: Writing Happy Mama Bundlethat must go out today!
-
1:00 pm: Whew, email written and it was intense. A very vulnerable share about my sexual assault. It feels good to put it out into the world though. Writing is so healing for me.
- Okay now I need to go through some helpdesk tickets and respond to Luisa. Phew! Found out I’m actually not late and have until November 5th. YES!
-
2:11 pm: Ok helpdesk complete, had to do some organizing in CU for the bundle and summit invitations I’ve been receiving in there, which is interesting. I was almost never invited to these things before, but I started applying this summer, did 40 bundles/summits and now I have invitations in my inbox every week. So cool!
- I need a quick break now, so going to go have lunch and then I have my 1:1 call, then I need to write the WSL.
-
2:30 pm: Coaching call with one of my fave clients ever!
-
3:27 pm: Okay, I’ve given myself a pep talk. This is my business, I get to decide, I get to make the rules and I can change my mind. So because I’m feeling really stressed about getting everything done today so I don’t have to work tomorrow, I’m just going to say F it. I’m going to work a few hours tomorrow, even though I normally take Fridays off. I’ve worked just about 20 hours so far this week, which is usually my max but I think because I was off sick for 3 days last week, I’m playing catch up.
- So I’m going to finish up a few things and then log off at 4 so I can cook for our potluck and get the kids ready for Trick-or-Treating.
-
3:35 pm: Confirming Kartra affiliate sign ups (this is something I do every week to make sure affiliates are being tracked and credited properly and I can follow up with anyone who cancels and offer support). I’m on track this year to earn over $20k in commissions from Kartra, which is so exciting because it’s a brand I 100% fully believe in, use myself and know will help my clients streamline and simplify their businesses and save money. We added a Kartra affiliate bonus suite last month for anyone who signs up with my link, which has been really fun! Here’s what my tracker looks like:

-
3:45 pm: Auto-Prune email list; this is basically sending anyone who hasn’t opened an email in 90 days from us into a re-engagement campaign to keep our list warm and engaged, increase deliverability and optimize our email list. Highly recommend. I teach this strategy here.
- Currently putting 562 leads into this funnel, and if they don’t opt to stay in, we’ll automatically unsubscribe them from our list.
- Found another 296 leads that I need to ask Kartra to whitelist, as they’ve been blocklisted.
-
3:54 pm: Checking in on Voxer and helpdesk.
-
4 pm: Signing off work for the day. Headed to make a Fall pasta salad for our potluck tonight.
- This turned out delicious. I added butternut squash, brussels sprouts, spinach, feta cheese, dried cranberries, pecans, and tri-color rotini in a fall spiced apple cider vinaigrette. YUM!
-
5:30 pm: Taking the kids trick-or-treating around the hood. Oh my goodness, we had so much fun. Our neighborhood has become such an amazing family place and there were so many adorable kids running around, super festive decorations, just so fun. Which was much needed, as yesterday morning, our neighbor 2 doors down had her front door kicked in at 7:15 am and electronics stolen. So scary! And just so bold to do it in the front of her house in the morning when people are up and out, even if it was still pretty dark out. I’m looking forward to DST this weekend.

9 pm: Home from Halloween festivities and it’s my turn to put the kids to bed. They’re pretty wiped but also wound up from all the sugar so it’s a weird combo. Once I started reading though, they both passed out.
-
10:30 pm: Up to bed after watching a few more eps of Nobody Wants This. I have a really bad, gross habit of using cuticle trimmers to cut my super calloused feet, which I did a lot of while watching TV. I need a pedicure tomorrow desperately. Reading before I fall asleep.

7:15 am Matt and I switched pick up and drop off today because I’m the mystery reader at Gem’s school this morning. So I got to sleep in a few extra minutes. Read my phone in bed until 7:45 and then get up.
-
7:45 am: Shower and get ready to go to school. Pick out 2 books (*Mini Bluey*and Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!, two of our fave funny books).
-
8:30 am: Stop at Starbucks since I’m now addicted to the pecan latte. Have 200 stars, so get a free venti. Whoop! Add on some potato, cheddar and chive egg bakes. Really delicious! Got a family group text that my cousin had her baby this morning, yay!
-
8:45 am: Mystery reader at school. OMG this was the most adorable thing ever. I can’t get over how happy Gem was to see me, and how cute those kids were. All the 4 year olds were introducing themselves to me by their full name, several were resting their heads in my lap and rubbing my arms (so sweet), and Gem got super sad when I had to leave. She’s the sweetest. Her pre-K teacher is the same one Jackson had last year and she pulled me aside to tell me how much she just loves my kids and can’t believe that I “did it twice” by raising “two of the kindest kids she’s taught”. Man that feels so good, even if she says it to everyone ;)
-
9:20 am: Back home and sitting down to work. Going to start by filling in this diary from where I left off last night.
-
9:40 am: Okay caught up in this doc and now going to do the morning start-up ritual.
- It’s been so amazing to connect with other women after the email I sent out yesterday about my sexual assault. I hate that there are so many who can say “me too”, and it is so powerful when we can reach each other and offer support and friendship. Responding to a few of these now and my heart feels both broken for all of us who deserved so much better and healed.
- Got my first Rankmath affiliate commission. That’s fun! And surprised it took this long as I’ve been promoting it in my emails for months. I think this came from a Slack question I answered.
-
10:29 am: Finished answering all helpdesk questions and Slack channel engagement. I’ve noticed how much of my time is going towards this since I’ve been tracking so much this week and am thinking about how I can improve my flow a bit more here. A few thoughts that have come up:
-
Context switching: I think I’m doing this too much throughout the day. While I’m so dedicated to being accessible and responsive to clients, ensuring they feel supported and engaged, I think it may sometimes detract from focused time on big projects. This constant communication flow is also pulling me in too many directions, making it hard to focus. I think I’d like to set “office hours” for client interaction (like once in the morning and once in the afternoon) to protect my time, reduce distractions and help my reclaim focus, while still maintaining a high level of support.
-
Delegation: In the past, I’ve had periods where I hired others to manage all of this kind of communication and while it freed me up to move the business forward, it also left me feeling more disconnected from what’s most important to me: relationships. I’d like to find a better balance here between delegating a bit more of this than I’m currently doing and still keeping me connected to my people.
- One idea that just came to me is having dedicated days where I’m in the helpdesk and other days where it’s Rachel. Mondays and Wednesdays are my “No call days” and times when I try to get the most focused, deep work in so I’m thinking I might try not being in the helpdesk on those days moving forward.
-
Underestimating the Energy Toll of Multitasking: Jumping between roles—entrepreneur, coach, creator, mom, housekeeper, wife, friend, daughter, etc.—gives me lots of variety, but the cognitive load is real. When I toggle rapidly between tasks, I’m expending more mental energy than necessary, which can leave me drained or stressed. Giving myself mental transitions between roles (like short breaks or dedicated blocks for similar tasks) could reduce this energy drain and help me feel more grounded, which would’ve been helpful this week especially.

10:45 am: looking at Fathom Analytics again and comparing it to GA4. There’s a huge discrepancy between them, so I just emailed Fathom to see if this is normal and which is right and what to do.
-
10:51 am: Alright, I’ve got just over an hour before I need to go meet my friend for lunch. So what I really need to get done today is write the Whole Soul List. If nothing else gets done today, it will be a success if that is finished. Actually that is the only other thing I plan to do today. Everything else can wait until next week. So here we go, let’s write!
-
11:35 am: Email done. Talking to a friend on the phone now before I go to lunch.
-
12 pm: Get in the car to go meet my friend Destini Copp for lunch.
-
2:45 pm: Back home from lunch and had such a great chat with Destini. We talked a lot about bundles and summits (include some ideas for me to host my own next year), shifts we’ve being seeing in the industry, managing a team, and ultimately what’s on both our minds for 2025: paid ads.
-
2:47 pm: Researching restaurants to go out tonight with my friend (one of my college roommates) for dinner. We’ve been trying to get together for a week, but between sickness and kids and life, it took us a few tries.
-
3:20 pm: Got all cozied up on the couch, going to answer some of the questions that have been asked here and then read my book.
-
3:32 pm: Off to read/lounge until it’s time to pick my kids up from school around 5.
-
5:15 pm: Headed out to pick the kids up from school. Hanging with them until 7 when I head out to dinner with my friend. Ready for a mental break!

Lessons Learned
This week was a mix of wins and lessons. I’ve realized how crucial it is to balance accessibility with focused work time. While I love being available for my clients, setting boundaries—like “office hours” for communication—could boost my productivity and well-being.
Another takeaway? Slowing down, especially after being sick, isn’t just okay—it’s necessary. By the weekend I was totally spent and needed a lot of time to recover from the week.
Don’t underestimate the emotional load and mental labor that goes into running a business alongside a life. Between the election anxiety, family therapy, managing meltdowns from small kids, being on my period, context switching a lot to be there for my kids at school and holidays, etc. it was A LOT. And my body really felt it. Go lightly.
Practical Tips for Entrepreneurs
One of my biggest productivity hacks? Walking while working. My treadmill desk has been a game-changer, letting me move while I knock out emails or plan content. Also, leveraging tools like Ellie AI Email Assistantkeeps my inbox under control without draining my energy and allows me to leverage AI in a really soulful, personalized way.
Behind-the-Scenes on Key Decisions
I’m always experimenting, and this week I’ve been mulling over some big changes: tweaking my Get It Done Week structure which I just did for our November challenge (live now) and adjusting tripwire pricing (which I changed on Monday for a 30-day test).
What goes into these decisions? A mix of data, intuition, and a willingness to test, learn, and iterate. Oh and fail. All of these experiments could be massive failures and I’m willing to go there just to see. Because they could also be massive wins. But I’ll never know until I try it.
Resource Recommendations
If you’re looking to streamline your business, I highly recommend Kartra. It’s been a powerhouse for me, from managing sales to handling affiliate tracking. And for analytics, I’m testing Fathom—simpler and more user-friendly than GA4. It’s been refreshing to find tools that genuinely make life easier.

Things I’m Pondering…
Get it Done Week Changes
I was just listening to Faith Mariah speak at the Striking Gold Summit and I had an idea for how I might change our Get it Done Weeks in 2025.

CURRENTLY:
Right now, we sell tickets for these live challenges for $44 (MBA clients get free access). Anyone who buys gets lifetime access to the trainings after the live week is over. And then we upsell them into MBA after the challenge is complete, and sell the product as a standalone offer in our shop, minus the live components.

NEW IDEA:
After listening to Faith speak, I'm thinking about doing it like this instead:
- GIDW is free for everyone to join so we can maximize the number of people who attend and get results and then upsold to MBA
- BUT the catch is that they only get access for that week. If they want lifetime access, they can upgrade to a VIP ticket for $44.
- So we'd have a larger pool to sell MBA to after they get some amazing quick wins (because people seriously LOVE these weeks and the testimonials we get from them are insane!) and we'd get more people to get a taste of what it's like to work with us.
- MBA clients would still get free lifetime access to the VIP replays of the GIDW.
- We'd still sell the product as a standalone offer in our shop, minus the live components, after it's complete.
What do you think? Our current conversion rate is roughly 5%, so if we had 100 people come to GIDW, we could potentially get 5 MBA sales. 250 people = 12+ sales, etc.
Tripwire Price Increase?
Right now, every offer on my website has a $7 tripwire on it for the first 15 minutes. It doesn’t reset for 1 year, so it’s a true OTO. But I’m wondering if I might feel more aligned and increase AOV if I were to do a tiered pricing strategy, like this:
- $7 tripwire on all products under $44 (save $37; 84% off)
- $17 tripwire on all products under $88 (save $71; 80% off)
- $27 tripwire on all products under $111 (save $84; 76% off)
- $37 tripwire on all products under $222 (save $185; 83% off)
I’m not sure if it will be as much of an “easy yes”/no brainer for people and we might make less sales or maybe even if that’s true, we’d make more money. But there’s something about the energy of more sales that is so life-giving to me, even more so than the dollar value. I’ve been thinking about testing this out for a while, so maybe after the bday sale, I will. Thoughts?
