Claude → Airtable → BlockBuilder Testimonial Base

Kate Kordsmeier: Hi Lori. I always go overtime on these and I always have another call after this. So I'm gonna just get right into it today so that we can hopefully complete something in full on one of these Watch Me builds. That would be amazing, right? Okay, so I am going to share my entire screen. Okay. And I just kind of want to walk y'all through what I have so far and kind of where I am. And then y'all can ask questions, of course. And as you, and then we're going to like get started into the actual, like, how do I rebuild this out? But I want y'all to know, like, I'm not starting this totally from scratch. So if you are, there's some steps that you would need to take in the beginning to basically corral all of your testimonials that you have so far. But fortunately, Pearl, your testimonial miner finder skill, can help you do that, and essentially what I would do is run Pearl in Claude to go find all the testimonials that you've collected so far, whether it's in your emails, in check-in forms, or any kind of surveys or things like that. If you have been using some kind of testimonial collector tool like Senja, if you have a community, we've gotten several testimonials this week for the room inside of school, and I want to comment that I promise I did not even ask her to do this. She just came out, and so you can have it look through your communities, wherever they're hosted. So those are the things that I would do. Have it go find your testimonials for you first, and then just tell it, I need you to... Build me an Airtable library to collect all of this data. I do think that Airtable is the best system for most things. I just am so blown away by Airtable. And especially now that Airtable has, I mean, they've had it for a while, but the Airtable MCP doing things with Claude or ChatGBT and Airtable is so easy now. So here's what I've got so far. You can see I have this testimonial library that has 335 records in it. And Claude built this whole thing for me. I did not do anything with this. But I did ask Claude. Okay, so let's come to my chat here. Here's where I started my chat today. At first I was like, I need to prep this. I've been doing random testimonial tasks over the years, forever. But especially this year, I've been doing things in Claude and I was like, I don't know where everything is. Like, can you kind of collect everything that I've done thus far and put it all in one place for me? So Claude did this, and then what it noticed is that I have seven Airtable bases that are named some variation of testimonials. So I want to first create one source of truth, which is going to be this testimonial library that I just showed y'all. And I want it to combine, like I want it to basically, I'm going to tell Claude, go take all of the other Airtable bases and take those testimonials out, move them into this one source of truth. And then I also have been using a tool called Senja, which I'm kind of mediocre on, but the main reason I am canceling it and using Airtable instead is because then I don't have to pay for another tool. So it's not even necessarily a huge knock on Senja, it's just like, I don't need it because Airtable... And then what Block Builder can do, so one of the things that Senja does is you can create these, let's see, you can create these like walls. So I can never use this, so I'm coming in here. Okay, so you can create like a wall of love. And for example, I have this one that's for MBA, and it just pulls all of the testimonials from MBA into this one place. And then you can either embed this somewhere, you can save it as an image, which I've done sometimes to easily include these in emails and things like that. I loved this feature. I was like, I definitely want to keep using this feature. Airtable can't do this as cleanly, but what Block Builder can do is that you can create a block for testimonials. So let's see if we just do start from a template. So customer testimonial wall, what we can do here is we can create a, okay, so I don't need to, I already have my data in here. So we're going to choose this testimonial library table and then choose the table. And let's say I want the MBA view. So now what would happen, I think I have to choose like what I want this to show. But I think what we could choose is a grid, maybe the quote field would be the, maybe it's like the publish ready text, the name field would be the name. Okay, so we're starting to build this out and basically now it's the same thing as what Senja was doing. So, and I can have like, oh, I have, I might have a field in here, I don't know exactly what's in here right now, but it's like, oh. Maybe there's a photo that I have of people that I could put in here, so there's like an avatar, I could put, you know, and you can change, like this says role or company filled, but let's say I have like a headline, so I put the headline there and now this headline is showing up here, and then I could rearrange this, I can style it, you know, I can add, I just saw something, oh yeah, show star rating, so I could add five stars to all the testimonials, I can change a lot of things, and then like, like, of course, the features and styling, so I want it to be, you know, in my brand, and I want different colors and all that, so I'm not gonna mess around too much with that today, but I just wanted to show you, this feature allows me to do exactly what Senja allowed me to do, which is one of the main reasons that I'm like, cool, I don't need to pay $29 a month for this anymore, so let me just pull up the chat and make sure, yes, this is how you make it all look consistent, exactly. And Block Builder is a one-time, currently, it's a lifetime fee. So you pay once and you get it forever. It's not an ongoing monthly subscription. Steph Blake, who's my friend that built this software, is changing that sometime before the end of the year. So if you're interested, we did a whole like JV demo with her earlier this year, I would definitely get in now because it'll never be cheaper than it is today. And it's very worth it. You can do way more than just testimonial blocks with this. We've been using it for all kinds of things. But today, I'm going to stay focused on the testimonial piece. So yeah, Tara, I'm so glad you like Block Builder. That's awesome. OK, I'm going to keep my chat over here so I can just make sure I'm not missing anything. All right, so let's come back to Claude. And it asked me first, do you want to build this as one source of truth? I said yes. So it saved a prep sheet for me. I of like what I need to do and it found most of the move is already done so I'm going to make sure that that happens and thankfully Senja and Airtable both have MCPs so I can just tell Claude to go transfer everything from Senja into Airtable and it will easily be able to do that. Okay, so one of the things I want to say here is okay I think the first step is for us to transfer everything from Senja into the Airtable Testimonial Library which will be our single source of truth moving forward. I also want to transfer everything from those other testimonial bases into this Testimonial Library base so that we can archive those old ones and just have one testimonial base moving forward. I do want to bring over the headshots. Or videos from Senja, because I would love to be able to feature people's faces on testimonials when they give us permission for that, and then we'll obviously need to make sure that we do a major de-dupe so that we don't have the same testimonial over and over again. Okay, so that's one thing I wanted to do. I also, I did some work in some other chats, so I gave this to Claude before we started today, just so that it would have everything that it needed. So now it knows like kind of where I've left off. Okay, I'm going to say Block Builder is logged in on Chrome on this computer, so we're good to go for that. And I was going to say something else, I just lost my train of thought. Okay. I can't remember what I was going to say, but I'm going to show you. This is the doc that Claude created for me, the Watch Me Build prep, and I need to just go over and see what it's saying. So I do have the scraper skill. I have a couple things set up too that I kind of want to maybe I'll like high level this first. So obviously one thing we're trying to do is create the single source of truth for all of our testimonials in a really organized fashion. The second thing I want to be able to do is like every week I want to have a scheduled task that is going out and finding the testimonials that we're collecting in all of these different places. So I do currently have a scheduled task right here. It's called my weekly testimonial scraper. I get a couple of these windows out here. And if you bought Pearl during our skill sale this month or you're in MBA. Then you could install this skill into your clod and create a scheduled task to run on the skill as well. So let me know in the chat if you have Pearl or you want a link for it. We could maybe backdoor you something here while we're live if you want to do this with us. But basically what Pearl does is she finds all the testimonials that you have and scrapes them from... Yes, this works in ChatGPT, Deborah. She'll scrape them from those places and then she'll bring them in. So as an example, what Pearl did this week is she found all the testimonials. She added them to the Airtable base and then I have her creating a school draft that I can post, tagging everybody and sharing the wins of these people. So you might have seen the last couple of weeks I've been doing this. And it's been one of the most popular posts. That we have in our school community right now, I think people are so inspired by seeing what other people are doing in real time. And I think especially because these aren't necessarily the big flashy like, I bought MBA and had my first six figure year. Like, yeah, that's true and exciting for some people, but this is more of the like, I did this one thing this week and look what happened kind of testimonial. And so I think a lot of the comments have been from people being like, this is so motivating to see people actually like taking action and getting results, even on the small things. So this post has been really cool. So part of my scheduled task is first go find all the testimonials, put them in Airtable, and then create a school post for me where I can easily share this. So that's what it just did. And then what I'll do is like, I'll review this. And sometimes I'm like, no, I don't like this copy or I make edits or whatever, but then that's ready to go and I can put this into school. Cool. So I did just update my testimonial scraper skill. Oh, it's giving me this error. Sometimes it does that. Error skill. All right. So, um, so this skill is also kind of this skill and this scheduled task is how you maintain this system that were created over time. And now what, one of the reasons that having this database is so important is because every time I go to write a sales page or I write an email about something, I can say, do I have any testimonials from somebody talking about, you know, using the pearl skill because I want to sell this now. And I want to share like the results that some people have gotten. And now it just goes into the air table base. It scours it for me and says, Oh yeah, you have three testimonials about that. Here they are. Um, and then the other cool thing that it's been able to do is that. Yeah. Okay. right? Especially for people that fill in our monthly check-in forms on a regular basis, we can now create these arcs of what has happened with their business over the last 3, 6, 12, however many months of them working with us and checking in with us. So we can say, you know, Danyel came to us and she started here. And in month three, she had done these things and had gotten these results. And now a year later, here she is. And so it's like one of those things that would be really difficult for us to keep all in our own memory, but obviously AI resolves a lot of that. So, all right, I'm just going to update this skill so that it knows where to search everything. And then let's come back down here to this migration project. Oh yeah. And then I guess where I was, was looking at this kind of punch list that it created for me. So, a lot of this... this... So, was just it correcting the base. So the first thing that we need to do is clean the base. So we have same person, several rows under different names. Yes. Okay. So I'm going to say like, oops, let's come back here. And then once you moved everything over to air, oops, to Airtable, then let's go ahead and start this step. And then sometimes I like doing that prompt before a big project like this. That's like, before you begin, ask me every question you need answered to do this well. So that's the prompt that I'm just giving it now. And as usual on a lot of these watch me builds, there's time for questions in between because Claude is going to go do its thing and I can't really do a whole lot in between that time. So let me know. What questions you have? I see, let's see, Lucinda saying, I really appreciated the email that you all sent after this past month's update. That's great, Lucinda. I'm so glad I paused because I'm like, what was the email? I can't remember which email you're talking about. So let me know and make sure that I know what was working well and making you all feel good. Okay. Yes, Steph's Airtable 101. I think getting some 101 knowledge of Airtable is super helpful, but as per everything, I find it's so much easier to learn a tool just by getting in and using it. So watch a few one-on-one trainings so you understand the difference between a base and a table and a view and things like that, and then just start using it and you'll learn a ton. So one thing I wanted to look at is we have this all. testimonials are currently right here, and I want to see, is this actually how I want this organized? So we have the headline, which is, let's just open one of these rows, for example. One of the best experiences as a business owner is the headline for this. We have the name. I usually do, I go back and forth on this. Sometimes I like to have the full name of the person leaving the testimonial. And then sometimes just for like privacy and, you know, thinking about like, do they want their full name here? And things like that, like just doing the first name and last initial. I'd be curious in the chat, when you read testimonials, not just from me, but like on anybody's site. I would love to know. I would What do you pay attention to? Like, are you somebody that reads all the testimonials? Do you skim all the testimonials? Like, I just skip them. I don't even read them. I don't care. And then, like, are you going to look up the person's name and see, you know, can you prove that they actually got these results? Like, I'd love to just know kind of your experience with testimonials as like a reader of any businesses. The email, okay, the email reference my beginning and compared to the current month. Oh, yes, Lucinda, exactly. So that's exactly why, like, this is why we love combining AI with the human touch, because we have hundreds of clients, and we literally get over 100 forms a month from people checking in with us. We could never, as a human, keep everybody's full story in our head. But AI can help us do that, right? And then we can add our human And touch where it's like, there's actually is a real human thinking about you and your business, making sure that the AI's got it right and all of those pieces. So I'm so glad that that was helpful. Okay, Jenn says, I read testimonials and appreciate the first name and last initial for privacy. What they're saying, Skim, it's nice, there's a first name, I don't care about the last name or never go on and search them out. That's how I feel. It's like, I, even if it was, you know, I mean, for B to C, like, how could you, how could you possibly search out also, like, did this person improve their parenting style at home? Like, you could never know that. But even if it is B2B, where it's like, this person's claiming, you know, that they have a million followers on Instagram now, thanks to this course, like, would you go look them up? I mean, I think probably some people do, but I think most people probably don't take the time to do that. Um, yeah, Danyel says I skim and take them at place about face. Oh, my gosh, face value. I think I use them to confirm. The purchase I want to make. Yes, I know. And I'm often not looking for the testimonials that, even though this is like the thing that people like, oh, the testimonials should be focused on results and outcomes and stuff. Sometimes the testimonials that get me to buy is just somebody who's like, they are where I, they were where I am now. And then they, you know, moved through that. And I guess that's still a result, but it's not always the like, I did this and made a million dollars. It's like the more specific, I guess, like it's more of the story to it. Yes. Page design and overall togetherness, huge thing over testimonials. I would never search a testimonials name. Yeah, me either. Okay. Well, this is good to know. Very small sample size, of course, but that's, that's very much how I feel. So I kind of like the first name, last initial. Um, and so one of the things that I do here is I obviously have these organized by program. And so. So we currently have options for our three core offers, MBA The Room, 1K Day Experiment, and then I guess we have three other courses here. I'm not sure why Claude set this up to only include those three courses. Obviously, we sell a lot more than those courses. We have testimonials for a lot more than just those three, and MBA includes a lot more, so that might be something that I ask it about in the future. Like, maybe we need to get even more specific where we have the program would be MBA and this and antisocial SEO because it lives in both. And then we have categories here. So like, what are they talking about? One of our AI tools? Are they talking about this was totally worth it? Are they talking about funnels, money, no social media? So what are you like the themes that you would have? What are the things people might say? And then, yeah. So you can kind of categorize it so that way when you when you go in you can say do we have any testimonials about you know quitting social media and then it could pull all of those into one category. Claude can just look that up for you but I do feel like it's helpful to have it organized in Airtable that way too. What's the transformation? Is it a mindset shift? Okay, so this is really interesting to like what kind of result is this testimonial talking about? Is there an objection that was busted? Too expensive? Will it work for me? Is Kate legit? No time. Not techie enough. So that's a fun one too. And then the status here is like ready to publish. I might need to review it. Maybe it needs context or maybe there's some that were like, ooh, we're not going to publish this. I would probably just delete them from the database, but maybe it's helpful to have that for some reason. So another thing that I do is I have. So the original text, which is exactly what somebody wrote in on a form, and then the way that my Claude skill works, and Pearl does this too, is it helps you make as few changes as possible to make sure that the testimonial has the context that it needs for people to understand it, that we maybe take out. sometimes people will write in a testimonial that will say, let's read this one, for example, Get It Done Week has been one of the best experiences I've ever had as a business owner. I've been so busy in my life right now, and I have a lot going on. My mother's been in the hospital, and my son has ADHD, and we're trying to get him tested, it's like, okay, wait, we don't need all of that information in the testimonial. So we want to cut some of it, trim it, we might want to reorganize the flow a little bit, so we're just, I'm never changing what anybody said, I'm just basically editing it for flow, context, clarity. And making sure that it's like getting to the point quickly and not talking about something that's totally unrelated to what the thing is. So I have this original text and then this is an AI field and you can see in this field we have it set up. Oh, actually, it's just a long text field. So here we would give an instruction to Claude that says when you're filling in the publish ready text, make sure you're following KURL's skill. So that we're getting that text right and you know what the clean vetted version is supposed to look like. You could do this directly in Airtable if you change this to be an AI field. Where's that? Why am I not seeing this here? Okay, maybe I have to do it somewhere else. Oh yeah, convert. I think I have to convert it. But There is a way to have an AI field that it would take the original text and it would use Airtable's AI credits to redo the testimonial for you, and you would just have to instruct it how to do it. I still prefer Claude to do it for me because Claude can be trained on my skills and Airtable can't. So I could give Airtable some instructions, but it wouldn't be as comprehensive. And then, yeah, so I just wanted to kind of look here and see what else Claude had created in this for me. Word count, mean, it's sort of helpful. These are like the old Senja things. So, yeah, let's see what's happening in the chat. Do you have a tag that says the testimonial is approved before it puts it in the embed block? Oh, yep. So I have two things on that. I do have in my privacy policy and terms and conditions that anything that you share with us in our public, like on our calls. In our school community, in our emails, in the intake forms, and all of those things like that, we can use any of that for testimonials in our marketing. So I don't need to have, I know this isn't quite what you were asking Tracy, but like, I don't need to have a separate box that's like gets people to consent again. But I probably would have, so like, let's say these are all of the MBA testimonials, and right now, this view has 180 records. Well, I don't need 180 testimonials on my sales page. I might want to choose like the top 10. And so what I would do is I would either create a view here that says maybe like, let's duplicate this, and we would change this to, let's say, rename MBA top 10. And then I would filter this out. I would choose the 10 testimonials I want. And then when I come into block builder, when I choose the view, I would choose MBA top 10. And then it would only just... Display those 10 there. So that's how I would do it for like those kind of walls and stuff. Yes. Okay. All right. Let's go check on Claude, see where we're at. About 480 older testimonials are coming over. Should they land in a new legacy not reviewed status so they don't bury the 90 fresh ones in pending review? Yeah, I think so because I'm thinking that most of those, import the old ones as is, and only write headlines and polish versions when, yeah, okay, I'm going to do that because I may not need all of them. When deduping, keep one row per testimonial. The same person can have several different quotes and only exact repeats of the same quote get merged. Yes. Right. So we have like Molly Cahill has 12 different testimonials. We don't need to. I'm all of those into one because I'd rather have, it's the testimonial is less about the person and more about the quote, right? So I would rather have the quotes individual. The old testimonials are for offers that aren't program options yet. Yeah, 6FBA, Incubator, 21 days. Okay, so 6FBA and Incubator were earlier versions of MBA, so we could likely combine those with MBA testimonials, but I'll want to review to be sure. 21 days was an earlier version of Launch Lab, but Launch Lab doesn't exist anymore and is now all included in MBA. Tag as beginner. It's just getting started. Testimonials. Okay. Don't need VC or podcast testimonials. Okay. Yeah. So I don't know if y'all have this, like when I first started my business, my first ever course was the Six Figure Blog Academy, and that was just teaching people how to start a website that's SEO optimized, how to create blog content that's SEO friendly. And then there were a couple other things like affiliates and sponsors and like how to monetize your blog. Well, then I retired 6FBA and I started selling a high ticket mastermind, which was called The Incubator. And I took pieces And I put it inside the incubator. And then the incubator came with a lot, a lot, a lot of coaching, and like very high touch program. And so then when we decided to end that program, we took all of the content that I had created for the incubator, and we turned that into the Mindful Business Academy, and it was the exact same content just without all of the coaching and the kind of the services that came with that mastermind. It was just like the self-study version of the course. So if I have a testimonial from somebody from the incubator, not talking about our coaching or something that's not included in MBA, but talking about something like, oh my gosh, my SEO exploded after I implemented Kate's strategies. Well, those are the same strategies that I'm still teaching in MBA. So I think that's fair to like bring those testimonials over, but I think some people have different opinions on that. So it'll be useful for you. Just think about for yourself, like, as your business grows and evolves and things morph into different offers and stuff, like how will you handle stuff like that? Okay, Claude says, your old testimonial database and Venus Visionaries base also holds the newsletter spotlight. Those aren't testimonials. Yes, leave Venus where it is. We do not need to bring those. Some podcast and VC testimonials are already sitting in the testimonial library. Take those out or only skip. Yes, I need to remove those. I don't want those. Watch Me Build is on right now. Do you want me to run the migration now while you narrate or build it off camera so you can run it now live? Okay, that's funny. I didn't know that it would know that we were doing this live. What questions do you all have? What are you thinking about for yourself as you're building out your own testimonials or thinking about how you might do this? I know how did she know? Probably my calendar knew that it was happening. happening at this time, but that's kind of creepy, right? One thing I wanted to look at is inside MBA and some of our courses, we have places where we ask people to give us feedback, and that is through Senja. So we're going to need to change this, because right now this is a Senja form that it's asking you to fill out. So I'm going to create a new task. Actually, I can just do this in the same one. One other thing that I need to add to the punch list, we don't necessarily need to do it right now, but it will need to happen at some point, is that inside all of our courses, we have a lesson that asks them for feedback. more I want that's then you have add So you a form to fill out and that process is automated and we need to recreate this in Airtable so that we're using an Airtable form instead and then running that same automation inside of Airtable. So here's that link. And so that's not what I wanted to click. I kind of wanted to see. So this one thing is cool, although we've only ever gotten one, is that people can leave video testimonials. Very few people. Well, one person has done this. So at first I would be like, oh, that's a bummer. Maybe we should stay with Sendra so we can get videos. But then I'm like, well, nobody's actually doing that anyway. So text is fine. So this is basically just asking them a question. Okay. Yeah, any feedback? Where can we use? So this does actually ask in this one where you can use, and then it does ask for their name and their photo. I do like having the photo, so I'm going to add a note about that. I'd like to drop the where can we use this testimonial from because I think we could just link out to our terms and conditions instead. But I do want the form to ask to collect their photo because I think that's better when we can share their photo in the testimonials. Okay, and so what happens is somebody submits this and then they can click claim their prize. Oh, this is a spin the wheel thing. It's kind of fun. Dang, $50 in KK credit? Did I know we were giving people that? That's good. That's funny. Okay, so right now, after they submit, they get to spin a wheel, and then it collects the testimonial. No. Right now, they spin the wheel, and then it gives them KK credit. So I'm not sure exactly how we would recreate this in... Yeah, Danyel, I'm heading over to that wheel. That's so funny. Recreate this in Airtable, open to suggestions. Sometimes... I like to tell Claude that, like, I don't know how to do this, but I bet you do. And I should have taken a screenshot of what that showed. Oh yeah, good. Okay, this is what I want. So I'm just gonna screenshot this so that Claude knows.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Hey Kate, usually people only get $25 in KK credit. I've actually never seen the wheel do anything other than $25, so...
Kate Kordsmeier: That's so interesting! Because then people, like, send that screenshot to the help desk so I do see all of the people who redeem this. Yeah. I wonder, so I did stop paying for Senja. I wonder, um, let's come back over to Senja and see how this works.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: So... It's, where is it? I think it's maybe under the thank yous. I can't remember now.
Kate Kordsmeier: I'm thinking it's in the form setting. Spin the wheel. Yeah, there you go. Okay, so it does... So you can change it. So like we can change it so that it's 100% chance like we want everybody's only going to get, you can only set the probability to 75%. Interesting. So technically, technically, there is a 5% chance you could get 75 in KK credit, 50% off a sponsor spotlight, which would be $125 in credit or 50 in credit. Wow. Oh, this is interesting. You could limit it to video testimonials. Oh, or you can say global reward, give the same reward. But I think the spinny wheel is sort of fun. But that's interesting that you can't actually say like, and you can't even say like 99%. Yep. Nope. 75. Okay. Well, that's how you set it up in Senja, but okay, I'm going to give, yeah, they all have to add up to 100. Well, I figured that, but I figured if I, oh, I wonder, okay, maybe you're saying like, if we said 1% and 1%, this isn't saving, oops, 1, 1, 1, 97, Ah, smart, Tracy. I was thinking it just had a weird, a weird limit like that. Okay. Save changes before you guys all go snag $125 in KK credit. I don't know, that's funny. Um, Yeah, Hailey says, what do you do if you basically have all the products from Kate and you have KK credit? So if you have our lifetime pass, but this was like a backdoor deal we sold last December, hint, hint, it's coming back if you missed it last year, which would be lifetime access to the room, 1K Day Experiment, and MBA, then yeah, the only thing really left to spend would be on coaching, like one-on-one coaching. And or when we do like random things like this birthday skill drop sale, I mean, I guess if you have MBA, you don't need to buy any of the skills. So maybe that doesn't really make any sense. So really one-on-one coaching. But a lot of people don't have lifetime access to all three of those. So you could use your credit towards the room or 1K Day, something that's not that lifetime thing. Yeah, I'm sure Claude could replicate this. evidence-based research that and probably. All right, let's see where it is. Added three new fields, headshot, media, and original offer. Next, I'm working out exactly which sender testimonials need to come over. There's 569 sender testimonials, 236 were already in the library, 123 are podcaster VC testimonials. VC was this virtual conference that we put on in like 2022, maybe. It was like a one-time event. We don't need those. 12 are duplicates or Rachel's test entries. 196 are coming over, plus three more from the old bases. 13 of the incoming ones are recent, so they'll land anew. The rest go in as legacy. About 170 of them will bring headshots or screenshots with them. Okay, so yeah, one thing that we used to do when we were trying to collect testimonials and organize them in Airtable is that we would have a screenshot field so that if it was like, oh, we got this testimonial. In school or something, or like on the zoom chat, we would take a screenshot of it and then we would put it in the air table field and then that way, if we ever wanted to actually display the screenshot instead of like our own version of the text, we would have that collected there. So that is pretty handy. I'm glad we have some of those with that. Yeah, and you can see some headshots coming over. Some of these are duplicates, which is interesting. Okay. Rachel, what else do we need to do to clean up our testimonials and stuff? Yeah, starting from that. Lots of screenshots and email messages. Yeah, exactly. So what you can do is like put them all in a folder on your computer and then point Claude at that folder and say create an air table base for me.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: With these screenshots. I don't know that there's anything else we need to do to clean this up. I think it's pretty comprehensive.
Kate Kordsmeier: Okay.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: And I guess... Oh, sorry.
Kate Kordsmeier: Well, just one other question.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: I think you already covered this, but this checks like the help desk email, the monthly check-in forms, the school community.
Kate Kordsmeier: Is there anywhere else that you can think of that we want to make sure? So let's look at it. That's what I was just updating in my skill because it was only checking forms. And I was like, oh, wait, why isn't this checking the other places that I thought I had in here? So this is a lot of junk. I don't want to clean up this skill, actually. Source type determines extraction method. You're verbatim. Okay. So that's fine.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: What's good. Get it done week intake or get it done weeks.
Kate Kordsmeier: A good one too. Yeah, I have that one. I have it collecting MBA monthly check-in the room intake. I don't know why it's giving these like failure modes first. This feels strange, but what you'll need before running. Yeah. Okay. One thing I can say here, we need to update the skill again. One thing is I feel like it's really clunky and has a lot of excess stuff in the beginning. So could you help me just clean this skill up a bit? And then secondly, what you'll need before running, you also need the Zapier MCP because that's where you will pull the emails in the hi at kkkkordsmeier.com inbox. kpk at katekordsmeier.com does not receive mail for both inboxes, and most of the testimonials would actually be coming to the hi-at inbox instead. Okay, do you do blog? So let's think about all the places. Oh yeah, so here's the form sources. We have MBA, testimonial form, monthly check-in form, intake form, some other surveys, get it done week, the room, monthly check-in.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Oh, never mind, never mind.
Kate Kordsmeier: Yeah, we moved it, but now we're pulling that from the past. Yeah. Yeah, now these 1k day experiment is, we really only have the intake form. Oh, so, and then for step 1a, 1k a day experiment, we now have the lovable hub. where people are leaving feedback there. So we could collect responses from that survey as well when we run the skill. Okay. And then, so yeah, and then coaching call and coaching transcripts. I was like, oh, it should also, like on our calls, we often have people share wins, say, you know, something really great happened after they implemented something. So we'd want to do that. Yeah. Chat logs, community posts, email replies, survey. Yeah. And sometimes you might just be like, oh, I have this survey that's not an air table. It was from something else. Just import the CSV or screenshots, like I said, whatever, public URLs. Okay. So I What have in this step two is basically scoring each record, looking for specific numbers, looking for social proof, before and after arcs, specific program or tool references, all of this is in that Perl scale for y'all as well. And that we don't just want like vague positivity. Like I'm not going to share a testimonial that just says like, this was great. OK, so we want kind of two signals. This is what I was talking about, like kind of building the full arc, which this Airtable base makes super easy to do now. And then extract and craft each use case using near verbatim language, just light clean up. And I do mark edits with brackets. So this is a journalism thing where if you're quoting somebody, like if you interviewed somebody as a journalist and you need to like add a little context, like what they said doesn't actually make sense because they use the word. If instead of the word MBA, for example, then you would take the word it, replace it with MBA and put it in brackets, which means like you swapped out the word for context, but it doesn't change the meaning of the testimonial or the quote.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: There's a good question from Lori here in the chat, Kate. Is Pearl able to mind school directly or do you have to manually do something or how does Pearl get access to school?
Kate Kordsmeier: It uses the Clawed in Chrome browser and you have to just be logged in to your school community on Chrome and then it will go in and it can scan through pages and pages and it will even find like comments and stuff. So there's not a school does not have an MCP. I don't know that they ever will.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: School is really weird about staying like super basic.
Kate Kordsmeier: We talk about this in the Weird Hermits Mastermind all the time because We're like, ah, school, you're making this so hard for us, but they are doing that very intentionally, so yeah, I just have it, okay, some, yeah, so you have a different one, yeah, so if you can't do it, I have been amazed, like, Rachel and I kept thinking, oh, we can't, we have to do everything manually in Cartra still because they don't have an MCP, and the Claude and Chrome browser can do amazing things, even without MCPs, almost to the point where I'm like, I don't even care if Cartra gets an MCP anymore, because this is doing things for me, yeah, I know, yay, Claude, exactly, um, okay, so this is kind of, I just wanted to make sure that it, like, understood how I wanted the testimonials to be crafted, that that was in there, and then tagging, theme coverage, push, okay, so that's all good, so. Let give it this so that it's going to update that skill for us. And then let's come back over here and see what's going on. Nothing. Come on, Claude! So maybe what we could do is look at what's pending review. I think part of me is like, I don't want to do this until it's been cleaned up. Um, there's a hundred records pending review, like some are missing headlines, some like some are missing things. So I feel like I want it to be all filled in and deduped before I do anything. Yeah, I know. This is Haley saying Claude does like her website copy while she's doing client work. This is what's hard about these watch me builds is that I'm like, normally, Claude would be doing this and I'd be like, great. I'm going to go start something else and work on this other project, but now that I'm kind of like here watching it, it's a little trickier. Well, maybe what we'll do is we'll design this block builder wall. So, oh yeah. And so there's tags. Maybe not. Okay. So let's see. I think I want a grid, but we could see. So sometimes you might just want a single testimonial that people could scroll through. That would be like a carousel. So they could, you know, you could have it displayed like that instead. I don't know what masonry looks like. Kind of looks like the same as the grid view, right? Oh boy. Not that. What do y'all see as the difference between grid and masonry? Let's look like the same. What's happening? Red is like four square, masonry is staggered. Thank you, Tracy. You're my brain today because I'm clearly not operating. I let Claude work on something, go work on chat. Yes, I know. I have a lot of threads going at the same time, too. I'm always amazed that it can do so many different things at once, but I guess that makes sense. All right. So we're going to choose publish ready text. We're going to say their name, avatar field. Maybe now we can choose headshot. So look, this popped right in. We have a headshot. And then if they don't have one, it just leaves it blank. So that's cool. The headline. I want the headline to be up higher. So I don't know what happened that just like made that look funky. Let's come back in here. Why is this over? I'm now. Isn't that weird? I think I kind of like masonry better. Do you guys like it better? Or do you like the four by four? I think having a rating field, I just like it for looks. Like obviously we're not actually asking anybody, but what I could do, sometimes I'll just do this. I'll come in here and I'll say, add a column to the all testimonials view that says star rating and give every testimonial five stars. So we'll see if Airtable can build that for us. Oh, yeah. I see Tara's sending me a... School Kit. There are some very cool school extensions and things that you can use to help you get your school a little smarter. Yes, I would like to proceed. Yes. I find Airtable's Omni to be either amazing or horrible and like really stupid. Sometimes I will say yes and it'll say, I don't know what you're talking about. What do you want to do? And I'm like, what do you mean? I just answered your question. Oh, this is going to update 20 records at a time. Okay. There's a way faster way to do this. See, this is exactly what I mean. So we're going to say five stars and then watch this. Don't you usually just double click that and then it does it. I know we could like drag it down. Okay, there we go. There's a way, this is where then I end up just asking Airtable to say, somebody has an idea for me. Yay, I'm glad, Tracy. That's awesome. It is, it's hard. Like, I have had this on my to-do list for so long. And honestly, if it weren't for watch me build, it would be staying on my to-do list. It was like, I need something to build in front of people. And I really need to do this. And I feel like this would actually be really useful to people. So I'm just going to do this. Okay. Now they're all filled. And now I can come here and say... This is in my way. Star rating. So now I have the stars there and then I could choose the color that I want the stars to be. So I don't think I would want to show the date or the social icon. So here's also if you were like, I don't want to go through and pick the best ones, you could pick like just show three or whatever. I'm going to just stay with showing all for right now. And then usually what we like to say, if you have a title and subtitle, actually, I think I'm going to turn that off because I'm just going to embed this and on my site, it's already going to say like what our customers love about MBA, for example. So styling, I like poppins, and we could do. you I think that's a little easier to read. Dark. The name we could do in that color. Still want to figure out how to get that headline. We could change the size. think desktop 1614 is pretty good. But then the name, I might make that a little bigger. Yes. So, Danyel, once this is complete, I'll show you what I would do, is I would hit publish, and then you get your embed code. And then I copy this embed code here. And what I can do is... Is now come to, for example, let's go to htmlpub and we'll look up our MBA sales page. Okay, so let's look at this as an upsell page that we have. And I want to see like where the spot that I would want to put this maybe is. Where do we, so we have some testimonials like this right here. So in theory, I could replace these with this block builder. And maybe something to talk through here is one benefit of not using block builder is I do have more customization in terms of style and what I want this to look like, right. But what I lose is the ability for this to auto update itself. And so, for example, especially like I already have hundreds of testimonials. I'd back See same But let's say it was a new offer, and I had one, like, then as new ones get added, I don't have to always be like, oh, I got to add that to the sales page, it would just automatically add to the block builder block, or I could just come into Airtable and say, oh, I'm going to change my top 10, actually, these are the top 10 testimonials now, and then it would be changed everywhere that I've embedded that. So maybe I have the block builder, like, I have an MBA upsell page, I have the MBA main sales page, I have a different MBA sales page for all of my JV partnerships that I do, and if they all use this block builder embed code, then they would all automatically be updated and synced across, no matter what was going on. So, no, HTML pub is not required to do this. The embed code you get is just, as you saw, like, it's just an HTML block. So any, any page... So page builder that you can paste in an HTML block, you can do that. And then with block builder, you can also embed in email. So this is what the email would look like. And I would just say, copy the email embed, and then I would put that into my email builder and it would have everything in there. So it's a really cool way to keep things updated. And like I said, I mean, I know we're talking about testimonials here, but there's a lot more kinds of blocks that you can build as well. So for example, the four by four that I have in some of my, the footer of my emails. So I just come and I edit that here. It's, well, actually edit it in the air table and then it puts this into the emails and stuff. I did this for, this is how we clawed. When I wanted to list out what the skills were that everybody contributed, I created the card view like this. So I. got to add everybody's photo. Here's what their gift was and the dollar value and all of that. So it's really cool. There's a lot of use cases, but I knew testimonials was something that I would for sure want to use this for. Yes. One source of truth. Okay. Okay. I think, can y'all see my chat window? I'm just because I'm sharing my whole screen or does zoom block out what's okay. We can't see it.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Danyel, did you get all your questions answered? I know you had several in the chat.
Danyel LaGow: Yes. Thank you so much. Yeah, that's great. I'm excited to use block builder. So absolutely.
Kate Kordsmeier: Okay, good. Oh, good. We've got some updates here. So let's see where we are. Live update three, the migration is done. Woohoo. I checked it against the live base. We now have 534 rows, 199 new. 176 now have a headshot and 190 have screenshots or media. I also updated 244 existing roles with the dedupe key, added the original offer, attached photos, moved five podcast rows to do not publish, checked every change against the base, two small notes, nine rows had curly apostrophes turned into straight ones on the way in. I don't even know what that means. The wording is otherwise identical. One screenshot was missing and I re-added it. I've got your feedback form. Okay, so I'm going to say, I don't understand the curly apostrophes thing, but if you're saying that the rows, that they were duplicates except for the apostrophes, then definitely dedupe those and don't create two, just choose one. And actually you can get rid of Rebecca's testimonial because she- Asked us not to share it. We do have that happen sometimes where somebody will say, I don't, I'm not comfortable with this or whatever, and obviously we're not going to be like, too bad. So we'll keep that out. I think that's why it wasn't in there in the first place. Everything from Senjen, the other testimonials base is now in the library, deduped. I re-pulled the whole base afterwards to check it. Okay, the weaker of each copy is now out there. You do key. Every row now has a source record ID except four. Okay, let's see what they mean by that. So if we come back in here, I'm just going to refresh this to make sure that it's fully up to date. So the source record ID, an Airtable record ID at school. Post URL, a Fathom meeting ID. Okay, interesting. It just seems like a random string, like it's not actually, okay, some of them are the URLs. I was like, I'm not really seeing how this would be useful, but I guess that's fine. Okay, 6FB and Incubator are now with MBA with the old name kept in a new original offer field. Same with 21 days, podcasts were skipped. Okay. I think I want to make it standard to just use the first name and last initial. So while I would like to have a full name column in case I ever need it for some reason, let's update the name column that we're using. Let's see, what is that column called? Might just be name. Let make sure, yeah, the name column to always use that format. Okay, so we've got a lot that need to be reviewed, some that do not publish, eight need context. So now this can be something that, I mean, this is going to be a big project for me up front, because it's like, oh my God, I got to go read a hundred and something testimonials. But then once it's done, then it's each week, it's like just reading a handful maybe. Okay, feedback form is on the punch list and I think the spin the wheel should go. Today it's all honor system. People screenshot the prize email you and someone applies the credit by hand. No, they can't do that. You have the feedback form and spin the wheel wrong. It's not an honor system. We have to create a unique coupon code for them to use their credit. They can't just apply it by hand. And And they can't refresh and spin again because, again, they have to go through Rachel to actually use their credit. Rachel, let me know if you have any different thoughts on that.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: I think it might mean issuing the credit because that's also manual. Like, they have to actually email me to issue their, to get their credit issued. Yeah, exactly.
Kate Kordsmeier: That's what I'm, I think that's what I'm saying. Well, you're talking about using their credit.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: The coupon code doesn't get created until they use their credit, which is slightly different.
Kate Kordsmeier: Okay, let's see. You have...
Rachel Silves - Team KK: don't know if it really matters that much.
Kate Kordsmeier: Yeah. It's just there's two steps.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: In order to get the credit, they have to email me, and then also in order to use the credit, they have to email me.
Kate Kordsmeier: Right.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: But there's no reason why Airtable and Claude shouldn't be able to just issue them the credit.
Kate Kordsmeier: Right. Like, I shouldn't, I could be removed from that step completely, which would be amazing. Yeah. Bye. But as I'm saying this, we would like to find a way to remove this manual step from Rachel's process. So what I'm thinking we could do is we would create the form, and then after the form you could create, like the thank you page would take them to something in HTML pub that would be a spin the wheel, a very simple page to spin the wheel, and they would get their credit. And in this case, I want everybody to get $25 in KK credit, even though the wheel will list some other prizes. And then we have the KK credit tracker, which is another Airtable base, and I'm thinking it could create a new record for them to use their credit that way. So the process would be that they would automatically get their credit after submitting their feedback. And then it would, no, they would automatically... It be added to the KK Credit Tracker base that says how much credit they have, which sends them an email letting them know that they have just received $25 in credit. But in order to actually redeem their credit, they have to respond to that email and tell Rachel what they want to redeem it on. So I think, Rachel, for these purposes, we would keep that the process for now and then maybe separately in another Watch Me Build, we could figure out how to automate all of it.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Yeah, or we maybe, I mean, I was just thinking like that's a good gatekeeping thing too, in case somebody wants to like submit 100 testimonials and get a bunch of KK credit, like they still can't use it until they email me, so.
Kate Kordsmeier: Yeah. Okay. All right. And then two quick yes, no questions. Some rows are probably the same person under different, different spellings. Yes. In terms of your questions. Yes. Those people are the same people. these people? I don't know. want Thank Just under different spellings. So again, I want to have one column that is their full name, if we have it, and then the name column would be updated to always be first name, last initial, but it would definitely be good to, we don't need to combine their testimonials into one record, like we said before, we just need to make sure that we don't have duplicates of the same person with the same quote, multiple times. Okay, and then your terms allow, yeah, first name plus last initial. Yes, okay, so that's what I was already saying. Archiving the old bases, this has to be done by hand. Okay, so I'm not too worried about that piece. But I think what I will do while that's working is come back into my Airtable account and let's search for testimonial. And then let's archive those. So then at least, oops, I thought, sorry, all my Zoom things in the way. Testimonial. Well, that's annoying. I guess what I'm going to do is just scroll through some of these and see. Okay, so like this one, maybe you can't archive it. I don't want to delete it. Maybe I'll just leave it then.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Maybe you can just rename it old or do not use or something like
Kate Kordsmeier: Okay, that's a good idea. I think I'm going to just tell Claude to do that.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Yeah.
Kate Kordsmeier: For all of the old testimonial bases in Airtable that we don't need to use anymore, can you just rename them to Do Not Use? Because I don't see a way to archive them only to delete, and I don't want to do that. Okay, let's come back here, look at my skill, see if this is updated.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Tracy's got a question in the chat too whenever you have a chance.
Kate Kordsmeier: Oh, great. Okay, I'll look at that real quick. For the higher volume membership type programs, is there a way to have the auto-populated name field auto-update for just current members? Also, if you have 50 to 100 people, do they have to go and find their name in there? You mean when they're filling out a form, like how we have a drop-down menu for people to choose? So, I'm not… I want I make sure I'm fully understanding your question, so feel free to come off mute. But my first thought is, you don't have to do that, but the reason I do is because I like having one member record that links out to everything that they've done. So I think that's the only way I know of to do it like that.
Tracy Montarti: Right. Yeah, because I definitely see the value in that. I'm just also thinking like, oh, well, I mean, I guess if they can search their name, it can pop up automatically. So they don't have to scroll. And then does it does that field, that dropdown menu, would it auto populate based on just who's current?
Kate Kordsmeier: Yes. So there's a couple of ways you could do that. So, for example, if I came in here and like, let's look at the monthly check in form. So if we opened this, it says select your name and then there is a search.
Tracy Montarti: So somebody could come in here and. And then what was the second part of your question?
Kate Kordsmeier: sorry.
Tracy Montarti: Like, so it's only so like, let's say Tracy Emerson, like I'm not on that list, but I guess that's because I'm not in MBA. But so that monthly, so like, let's say Tracy Emerson is now no longer a part of it. Then now her name doesn't come up anymore.
Kate Kordsmeier: Yes. Okay, exactly. So there is a way here that you can limit the record selection to a view. So you would have it only as active clients versus all clients. Like the filtered.
Tracy Montarti: Okay.
Kate Kordsmeier: All right.
Tracy Montarti: Perfect. Thank you. No problem.
Kate Kordsmeier: Okay. Let's come back and take a look at, this looks much better, right? This other skill was like so clunky with so many random things at the beginning. Okay. So it got all of the right MCPs and everything there. Cool. So this looks like it's going to be a good one. So I'm going to click update. Okay. And so this is running a couple agents to do those in batches, but I think that'll be really nice. Then everything will be fully uniform. So our block builder, you know, won't have like, some people have first names, some people don't. And let's rename this. Actually, this needs to be the MBA testimonial wall. And I guess it's still updating for some people, but yeah. Okay. Well, y'all, I think we're at maybe a good stopping point here. Of course, if y'all have any other questions, let me know, but I might just end this here. I think all you... All you'll see, I'm happy to stay on for, I have 15 minutes left, if you guys want to see what it does for the form and the air table, spin the wheel thing, if we want to like get to that, hopefully it would finish in the next 15 minutes, but basically we're done, like I just now need to go in and review things. I have a feeling what I'm going to have to do is when I look at that testimonial library and I see the publish ready ones, I have a feeling I'm going to be like this is not, this is not good enough, and that we'll need to fix that. So that's probably going to be part of the next phase of this is just getting things cleaned up, but I'm really glad that I at least have things all in one place now. Um, and I can fully just get rid of Sinja, I mean I'm not paying for it anymore, but I don't, I can just close my account there, I guess they do have a free plan for anybody who is interested in that. But hopefully after you watch this, it's like, why would I use Sunja? I think you should talk a little bit about how you, I mean, you've kind of alluded to it a little bit, but like you're really good at using testimonials, getting testimonials, making sure you're constantly asking for them.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: So I don't know if that would be useful for people is to just talk a little bit about that evolution in your own business and give people a little backdoor behind the scenes.
Kate Kordsmeier: Yeah. Would that be useful to y'all? Yes. Okay. Well, I always find questions like these kind of interesting too, because part of me is like, well, y'all know how I do it because I ask you. And so how does it feel to you being asked all the time and, you know, having these different ways? So I think I answered a similar question in 1K Day's office hours this week, but one thing that's coming to mind is thinking that anytime I'm asking for feedback on anything, I always include two things. I always have a... Anything else you'd like us to know, optional, box, and we get lots of testimonials from that box alone. And then I also always ask, like, what are you celebrating? What's a win? And so I'm not phrasing it as like, tell us what we did for you. I'm just saying like, what are you celebrating? And of course, if they're celebrating something that's not related to our work together, we wouldn't use it as a testimonial. That's one of the things that is in Pearl's skill says, you know, you have to make sure that it's actually relevant to the thing that we did together. But yeah, I think kind of having more subtle ways of asking like, for results that aren't just saying like, what results have you gotten from this program? Sometimes people are like, I don't know, or like, that's hard to quantify. But if you just ask them something, something either more specific, or, you know, something that's like, talking more about, about them in a way, like people love to talk about themselves. So So when you can get them talking about themselves instead of feeling like they're doing you a favor, I think that's part of it. I will say, and I probably need to add a disclaimer. I just learned this recently, that if you incentivize testimonials in any way, you do need to disclose that when you display your testimonials. So what's hard is like, well, we're not incentivizing them except for that spin the wheel thing, right? But all of the other ways that we're getting testimonials are just people sharing. So, yeah, that's something to keep in mind. I'll probably need to add something on there. I feel like it should just be like a general disclaimer that says like some of these testimonials were incentivized with store credit or something. Because I don't know how it would like identify the individual ones. Otherwise, some other ways to... to... who get testimonials is sharing success stories. So I've noticed that the more I've started sharing other people's success stories in the school community, for example, people are randomly then adding their own either to that thread or they're starting a new comment thread in school saying like, oh, I did this. And I think, again, people like being highlighted. People like talking about themselves and talking about how great they are. So that's a great way to just get people to like naturally start doing it. And we, and we just, as you guys know, we ask for feedback a lot. And I'm not, I'm not only interested in positive feedback. Like I really take it to heart when people say, this is hard to navigate or I don't know. It's like, okay, how can we fix this? So I also think that there's something to, if you are really receptive to negative feedback, people are more likely to give you positive feedback too, because they don't feel as like, oh, I can, she's only gonna, she's only cares if I'm giving her. And it's not really about me at all. What else, Rach? What else do we do?
Rachel Silves - Team KK: I mean, one thing that you just put on my task list this week to make getting testimonials even easier or to really show that arc from beginning to end is we're asking pretty specific questions inside our monthly check-in forms to really try to gauge how much revenue did they start with versus how much revenue did they make this month. And we just like changed up some of our questioning to our questions to really help kind of capture the kind of data that we want to share in the testimonials. And so I would just maybe go a little bit deeper on that is like if you want to get testimonials, think about the kind of testimonials that you actually want to get and then ask those questions, because that's how you're going to like reverse engineer getting those testimonials.
Kate Kordsmeier: Yeah. Yeah. And I think whatever your niche is, like really trying to get people to think in sort of before and after, even if the before and after is like this. It doesn't have to be after they went through the entire program, but just small things. So asking more specifically, like you said, like, where are you starting from? And so if you're a parenting coach, it's like, how often do you yell at your kids right now? And, you know, then like asking questions on future forms. I also think doing the monthly check-in forms. I saw Haley ask, where do you get the most testimonials from? I would say probably from the monthly check-in forms and the Get It Done Week submission. Would you agree with that?
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Yeah. Yeah.
Kate Kordsmeier: And so that's also like thinking of things too, like a reciprocal thing. So like, we're not just asking people to fill in a testimonial form every month or even a feedback form every month. We're telling them, we're telling them, let us know where you are as a whole and how we can support you. Where do you, where are you stuck? Where do you need direction? Like what kind of coaching do you need right now? Yeah. And then we're giving them that and then we happen to be able to like mine some testimonials from what they share. So, yeah, I think, I think a lot of that is, I'm glad Tara says it feels like we build it into our flow really naturally and I think that's part of it, like, not just coming out and constantly being like, tell us what we did good. But I think it's just like selling. It's like lots of little things that compound all together. And we definitely didn't always get testimonials like we do now. I do feel like, you know, I don't know, snowball effect or more begets more like there's some there's some expression in there that I can't think of right now. That's sort of like the more testament. It's almost like what's that? There's a joke that's like the only thing a girl needs to do to get a date is to get another date. And it's like, as soon as you have another day, like there's something that changes in your energy where you're like, I'm just. And you start putting that out there and then it's more attractive to other people and I think it's like the same thing with testimonials is like the only thing you need to do to get testimonials is get more testimonials and they'll just start they'll just start happening and I also am a big believer in being a product of your product so if you want testimonials do you leave testimonials for other people and so not like in a swap trade thing but just an in like a karma way of like tell people when they do. They helped you do something well and more people will probably tell you when you do the same.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: That seems like a good place to end things Kate.
Kate Kordsmeier: Okay. Yeah, I'm just looking at Claude real fast to make sure see where we are.
Danyel LaGow: And can I just say something during this day this Danyel during this whole thing I didn't even have air table before I didn't have pearl downloaded during this session I've downloaded it and I have a testimonial library.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: soon. later. bye. That has all those. It's amazing. It's incredible. So there's another testimonial for you. There you go.
Kate Kordsmeier: See? I can't wait to dig in. I love it. Thank you so much for sharing that.
Danyel LaGow: And that's really exciting.
Kate Kordsmeier: And I mean, I think, I know this kind of took a while, but like we said, a lot of it's because we're like waiting on Claude to do something. We could be doing something else, but it's like, yeah, and it's a video, Tara. Yeah. But it's like this, this can actually be really quick and easy. And there's just so many cool things that you can, I'm just, I'm in like an AI love fest this week. Cause it's been really, I think building out this new, I cannot, I, hopefully you guys have seen the behind the scenes loom. I recorded for you for the new one K a day portal. I posted it to school and to Telegram earlier this morning, and it's so good. And I think we're going to launch it. Like, I don't know, maybe today, maybe Monday, if we, if we don't get to it, but yeah, it's really good. And thank God for Claude and all of the, all of the AI stuff. So I'm glad. I was helpful. Come share your wins. Let us know, you know, in school and tell us, like, I got my testimonial base up and now I have this weekly skill running that's like pulling them every week. I'm getting new ones. And yeah, I'd love to hear about it.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Do you have ideas for the next Watch Me Build, Kate?
Kate Kordsmeier: Hmm. Do y'all have ideas for the next Watch Me Build? More like it. I do have a few things on my like, again, like these are things that I need to build. So one thing I'm thinking of, have two things in that they're both kind of Claude Airtable related. One thing is the KK Credit Tracker. We've been wanting to like update this and make it a more automated process where you could log in at any time, see how much credit you have and spend it without us having to issue a coupon code. So I don't know, if that's possible, just based on how. Archer's checkout system works. But yeah, that is something I want to build. I also want to build like an email marketing slash bundle summit system so that I always know what I need to be promoting, when our emails are going out, making sure that every, you know, all the links are right and everything like that. So that's another one that's on my list for October. Okay, Lori says yes, that one. Yeah, I think that one would be really cool. What else? I feel like I have, I definitely have more ideas. I have a lot of like flawed systems that I want to build out. So let me know what ideas you guys have, if anything's coming to The link, Airtable, Repository, Heaven. What kind of links?
Tara Kraus: Like, what are you keeping track of there? I still think, like, just any of the links, like opt-in pages. I feel like stuff that is needed when I'm building something in Claude, I feel like there's so much you have to pull in. I don't know.
Kate Kordsmeier: So I have a skill that I created that's just called the Success with Soul Offer Suite skill, and it pulls in a lot of my links. And then when I give it new ones, like it also pulls in my affiliate links and stuff. And then all of my, so kind of similar, but it's not, there isn't like a source of truth in Airtable that has all of that. So maybe that is, I've never really needed the Airtable piece of it because the Claude skill seems to do that pretty well for me. So try that. See if you create a Claude skill of it first. And then if you're like... And this isn't as good as I want it to be. Let me know. We could, we could troubleshoot that for sure. of are so good at popping the links in.
Tara Kraus: it's like, clearly, do you have a spreadsheet behind you? Like what, how are you popping those?
Rachel Silves - Team KK: It's all up here in the brain, Tara.
Kate Kordsmeier: Good deal.
Rachel Silves - Team KK: I'm just kidding. I mean, Our affiliate link, we do use like a naming convention for a lot of things.
Kate Kordsmeier: So like all of our affiliate links are successwithsoul.co slash brand name. So if it's like, oh, do you have an affiliate link for Airtable? It's like, yep, successwithsoul.co slash Airtable. Um, so some of that really is just sort of like in the brain, but, um, and we, we use pretty links for things. So it's like, oh, if I need the one K, like, I just have it memorized that successwithsoul.co slash room slash MBA slash BTS. Those are our pretty links for some of our offers. But like, if you asked me for the, I don't know, Rachel, you do most of the link popping in the chat. Is it, is it just all in that big brain of yours?
Rachel Silves - Team KK: Yeah, no, no, I mean, I, I usually can remember, Like where the link is, like if it's an HTML pub page or a Kartra or whatever, and then it's like, I'm getting it. I don't have everything memorized for sure.
Kate Kordsmeier: Yeah. I think it is a good idea to have some sort of repository and Airtable. Like if I wasn't building it as a Claude skill, I would definitely build it in Airtable. But I like, well, and Claude could pull it from Airtable, but I like having it as a skill because like it just automatically pulls in all of my links. When I'm doing something Claude where it's like, oh, I need to write a school post about the 1k a day experiment. Like I don't have to give it the link. It knows to pull it from the offer suite skill. I'll check it out.
Tara Kraus: Thank you. You're welcome.
Kate Kordsmeier: All right, guys. Super fun. We'll see you next time. Thanks for being here. Bye, everybody.

Recap
Meeting Purpose
To consolidate and automate testimonial management using AI and Airtable.
Key Takeaways
- Centralized Testimonials: Migrated all testimonials from Senja and 7 legacy Airtable bases into a single "Testimonial Library" base, creating one source of truth.
- Automated Collection: The "Weekly Testimonial Scraper" skill (using Pearl) now automatically scrapes new testimonials from multiple sources (forms, community, email) and adds them to the library.
- Dynamic Display: Replaced Senja's static "Wall of Love" with a dynamic Block Builder embed, which automatically updates across all sales pages when testimonials are added or changed in Airtable.
- Streamlined Workflow: The process now uses AI for initial drafting and formatting, with a human review step for quality control. The manual credit-issuing process will be automated in a future build.
Topics
Problem: Disorganized & Manual Testimonial Workflow
- Testimonials were scattered across 7 Airtable bases and Senja, making them hard to find and manage.
- The Senja "Wall of Love" feature was static, requiring manual updates on sales pages.
- The process for issuing KK credit for feedback was manual, creating a bottleneck.
Solution: Centralized System with AI & Airtable
- Central Database: A single "Testimonial Library" Airtable base was created to house all testimonials.
- Migration: Claude migrated 569 Senja testimonials and ~480 legacy testimonials into the new base.
- Deduplication: Claude deduplicated exact quote repeats while keeping multiple unique quotes from the same person.
- Standardization: The
Namefield was standardized to "First Name, Last Initial" for privacy.
- Automated Collection & Formatting: The "Weekly Testimonial Scraper" skill (using Pearl) automates the process.
- Scraping: Gathers testimonials from monthly check-in forms, intake forms, Skool community posts, and the
hi@katekordsmeier.cominbox. - Drafting: Creates a
Publish Ready Textversion by cleaning up theOriginal Textfor clarity and flow, using brackets[]to mark edits. - Output: Creates a draft Skool post with new testimonials, ready for review.
- Scraping: Gathers testimonials from monthly check-in forms, intake forms, Skool community posts, and the
- Dynamic Display with Block Builder:
- Functionality: Replaces Senja's feature with a dynamic, brand-styled embed.
- Benefit: The embed automatically updates across all sales pages when the Airtable source view is changed, eliminating manual updates.
- Cost: Block Builder is a one-time lifetime purchase, replacing Senja's $29/mo subscription.
Future Automation: Feedback Form & Credit System
- Goal: Recreate the Senja feedback form and "spin the wheel" incentive in Airtable.
- Initial Plan:
- Form: An Airtable form will collect feedback and a photo.
- Incentive: The thank-you page will link to a simple HTML Pub page with a "spin the wheel" animation.
- Credit: The system will automatically add $25 in credit to the "KK Credit Tracker" base and email the user.
- Redemption: The user must still email Rachel to redeem the credit, maintaining a human gatekeeping step.
- Future Phase: Fully automate credit redemption to remove all manual steps.
Testimonial Collection Best Practices
- Ask for Wins: Use questions like "What are you celebrating?" instead of direct testimonial requests.
- Subtle Feedback Forms: Include an "Anything else?" field on all feedback forms.
- Highlight Successes: Sharing other clients' wins encourages others to share their own.
- Incentive Disclosure: Legally, incentives (e.g., store credit) must be disclosed when testimonials are displayed.
Next Steps
- Kate:
- Review all testimonials in the "pending review" status.
- Archive old Airtable bases by renaming them to "Do Not Use."
- Build the new testimonial feedback form and credit automation in Airtable.
- Future "Watch Me Build" Ideas:
- Automate the KK Credit Tracker.
- Build an email marketing/bundle summit system.
- Create an Airtable repository for links.
