A Week In The Life Of Kate — March 17, 2025
Behind-the-scenes: a real week running the business, mothering, and moving through it all.
All times are EST.
Family:
- Mattie (husband)
- Jackson (son; 6)

Monday Mar 17, 2025
- 8:30 am: Wake up. The kids don’t have school today (some BS teacher work day… I swear my kids are off ALL THE TIME!), so we are sleeping in and moving slow today. Catch up on my Leave Me Alone rollups in bed, which helps me keep my inbox clean and reach zero most days.
- 9 am: Get out of bed, brush my hair and teeth and come downstairs with Jackson. Make him breakfast, give the Scout her meds, make a white mocha lavender decaf latte for myself and print out a coloring page for Jackson. Mattie took Gem to the chiropractor with him this morning and we made a deal with the kids that they could stay home (instead of going to camp) if they ran errands with us and did their chores and let us work today. We’ll see if they actually stick to it, but so far so good.
- 9:20 am: Alright time to start my morning start-up ritual (I detailed this in a previous diary here, and using the Toby chrome extension helps me make sure I always remember to check the things I need to every morning). Here’s that screenshot of what my startup ritual includes these days:

-
I’m trying to figure out a way to automate my Daily Sales tracker, which would remove 4 tabs from this and save me about 5 minutes a day, but the API thing is proving to be harder than I realized and I haven’t had too much time to devote to this yet. Maybe this week!
-
Spent a few minutes setting up this doc in the portal and then posting to the Slack channel to let folks know we are live. Need to send an email too to all active members to make sure they know.
- Also noting that I think something is off with my spreadsheet and I need to fix the tracking on there to make sure canceled members are being removed.
-
In other news, our daily average revenue is up from our slow winter, but still down compared to pre-holidays. More ads updates to come too as I was hoping ads would help us more than they currently are right now.

-
Skipping email this morning to move onto more important things first. But I am in the Slack channel making sure those get responses.
-
And my mastermind has a Slack channel where every week we share things for other members to promote so I’m updating some swipe copy for them to help me promote the $1k/day experiment. Anyone want to earn 50% commissions and share with your audience too? Comment here and I’ll set you up with a special coupon code just for your audience!
-
9:53 am. Morning start up ritual is complete (even though I skipped email). Checking in with my 1:1 Voxer clients, which has been growing a lot lately and I am loving it.
-
10:15 am: Made a quick update to my February 2025 income report, as I had the wrong numbers in there as I didn’t realize my accountant hadn’t reconciled everything yet. The good news is I made more money than I originally thought AND my profit margin was higher too.
-
10:23 am: Need to make a to do list for this week and get clear on what I am prioritizing:
-
Optimizing my ads
-
Making some updates to the $1K/Day Experiment (I could really use your help here in the comments to vote and tell me what you’d like more/less of so I can make this membership even better for you!)
- Host a mini flash sale for the $1k/Day Experiment
-
Inbox Insights and Voxer clients
-
Close out GIDW tomorrow, pick winners, start planning the next one (I’m so excited to report that I have 88 active members in the Room right now, which means I’m only 12 away from my goal of 100 and $10k/months of recurring revenue just from The Room).
- Triple check my emails for the upgrade to annual Room membership is ready to go starting tomorrow. Excited about this new promo! It’s REALLY good!
-
Clean out Google drive and shut down former employee’s G-suite account so I can stop paying for it
-
Check on new AI subscriptions and make sure I cancel anything no longer needed
-
Record summit presentations:
- The Email Experiment
- The Introvertpreneur Summit
-
Get Pinterest plan in place after finishing Inner Circle trainings and outsource to a VA after reviewing profit numbers and getting clearer on what I want to spend each month to maintain my 70% profit margin (this includes ad spend that needs to be looked at)
-
-
10:37 am: Alright now that I’m clear on my week, need to take a quick break, check on Gemma, and come back ready to knock some things out. I’m going to put this into the Success with Soul Matrix to help me prioritize what needs to happen first. This is my all-time fave tool for task management and it’s free in our Cyclical Living Planner.
-
10:45 am: Starting with Inbox Insight client emails.
-
11:02 am: Done, moving onto $1k/Day Updates. Just kidding! It’s now 11:46 and I haven’t done anything. My daughter has interrupted me 100 times, my brother called, my mom text about my grandma’s 100th birthday this summer and then I remembered I needed to call Emory Child Psych because we’re getting Jackson evaluated for ADHD as he’s been having a really hard time lately and it seems like this could be why (his dad, uncle and grandma all have it too, so this is not my first rodeo!).
-
11:49 am: Got Gem set up with her diary from the book fair last week, and hopefully she will be occupied with that for the next hour or so while I take my ads co-working call. I’m going to answer a few emails now and then try to get some of my actual work done after. Damn Atlanta public schools having time off every other week!
-
12 pm: Ads co-working call with my mastermind.
- I’m so bummed to report that my ads that had been running for a month and getting me CPL’s sometimes under $0.99 seemed to have broken over the weekend and my CPL shot up to $16. WTF?!
- My mastermind buddy told me to turn them off, duplicate them and just turn them on again, kinda like clearing your cache. Said sometimes that works. So I’m trying that and will report back in 24 hours to see if that changed anything.
- After we each shared what’s happening with our ads accounts we co-worked for an hour and I decided to get my new webinar ads set up. I basically took my live webinar from October and turned it into an evergreen webinar I can run all the time. I’m hopeful this could be another great way to grow my email list with ideal clients for MBA. But I’m worried that at $2k it’s going to be hard to convert cold leads in 72 hours. So I’ve got to figure out how I think about profit for these ads. On the one hand, if I’m growing my list with quality leads who engage with my emails and go on to buy other things in my business, I know I can convert them into customers of some kind even if not MBA right away. But that’s a longer time to recoup my investment, meaning it’s a bit riskier to run ads this way unless I can get my tripwires and bumps converting high enough that my ads are at least breaking even if not profitable. Here’s where I’m at currently

Some other key stats:
-
42 of the 845 leads have purchased something from me. So that’s a 5% conversion rate from those leads within the first 30 days.
-
The average order value is $13.12.
-
Of the 42 customers, they are spending an average of $20.48 each and 36.6% of these leads-turned-buyers made more than one purchase. My best buyer made 5 purchases.
-
4 (0.4%) of these leads joined The Room, which is $97/month. They got their first month for just $7, but if they stay, that’s some decent recurring revenue. I might want to do something to get people into the Room sooner.
-
12 (1.4%) of these leads joined the Launch Lab, which is $9/month.
-
27 (3.2%) of them have viewed the MBA sales page, but no sales yet.
-
256 of the them have clicked a link in an email, telling me that 30% are relatively engaged.
-
So in summary, my immediate ROAS is low at 0.31, meaning I haven't yet broken even on ad spend—but this doesn't account for recurring revenue, future purchases, or the full lifetime value (LTV) of these leads.
-
I know from last year that my average value per subscriber is around $26, so in theory these 845 leads will be worth $21,970 over their lifetime.
-
Expected ROAS (Long-Term): 8.24 (This means for every $1 spent, I could eventually make $8.24—a huge shift from the current 0.31 ROAS.)
-
Right now, my short-term revenue looks weak (ROAS = 0.31), but if these leads behave like last year, I’ll 8x your investment over time. So focusing on nurture and retention is a BIG priority for me.
-
Ideas:
- Try a flash sale, webinar, or special bundle deal to convert those warm leads.
- Re-Target the 27 People Who Viewed MBA’s Sales Page: They’re so close! Maybe they need a bonus, payment plan, or social proof push. A case study email + a Q&A session could get them over the line.
- Since 36.6% of customers buy more than once, encourage repeat purchases with strategic upsells, bundles, and cross-sells.
- Wondering if instead of trying to get folks into MBA right away if I should try to get them into the Room instead? It’s selling better right now, it’s an easier yes, it gets people quick results and I love it. And it ultimately helps me sell MBA on the backend…maybe that’s the play?
-
-
1:54 pm: Finished setting up another ad for our evergreen webinar and now going to take a lunch break.
-
2:34 pm: Sitting down for 10 more minutes before I leave with Gem to go to a dermatologist appointment for myself. She’s oddly excited to be able to join me lol.
-
2:46 pm: Heading out. Be back in a couple hours.
-
4:49 pm: Back from the derm. Wondering where the day went. Just spent some time doing some ads analysis to better understand where I’m at and updated above.
-
5:23 pm: I want to write an email to y’all letting you know that we’re live in the Google doc, but I think I should also send it to everyone so that I can get more folks into the experiment too. Sometimes this domino effect gets me overwhelmed because a simple task ends up having multiple steps when I try to maximize my efforts. I feel like I can’t think straight with the kids screaming and playing in the other room so I’m going to finish my day answering some customer service emails and then just start fresh tomorrow when the kids are back in school and my brain isn’t total mush.
- I’m testing out a new AI tool to help me manage my inbox called Fyxer right now.
-
5:46 pm: Done, heading out to dinner at the pub across the street with the kids. Huge mistake to keep them home today and try to work, every one (kids and adults) are stressed and pissed. Why do we do this to ourselves? The thing is, I could’ve taken the day off but I didn’t want to. I wanted to work, and I had things to do. I love my job. I love my kids, but I was already with them all weekend. I need time to myself to do the things I love. I gotta stop feeling guilty or wishful thinking and just get them childcare when I want it.
-
7:30 pm: Dinner was fun, we played Jenga at the table and ate nachos and wings and fries and came back home to snuggle for a bit before bed. Mattie is out of town the rest of the week, so I enjoyed the fact that it was his turn to do bedtime last night. I’ve been rewatching Gilmore Girls and scrolling for foster dogs as I’ve really been wanting to have another dog in our house again, despite the fact that logically I know this is going to add so much more complexity to our lives which is not what I want/need right now. But I just love animals and feel like maybe fostering will help me scratch that itch without a long-term commitment, and while doing some good in the world.
-
10:30 pm: We watched Jeopardy after the kids were down and then caught up on White Lotus, then up to bed. I’m literally STILL reading Onyx Storm, which I think is the longest it’s ever taken me to read any book ever. I just can’t get into it. But I read a few pages before bed and I’m almost 70% done. I’m 4 books behind schedule on my reading challenge to finish a book per week this year (last year I read 50), and I really just need to wrap this one up so I can get into something I really love.
-
BTS: The $1k/Day Experiment – $38.50
-
Launch Lab – $45.00 (5 sold)
-
The Room: Weekly Calls + GIDW – $7.00
Oof, not a great sales day yesterday. My shop sales have actually been way down lately and I need to look into what's going on there to figure out how I can fix it. Most of these sales are happening because of tripwires, bumps and upsells on my lead magnets that I’m running ads to.

-
7 am: Wake up and get the kids ready for school, give the kitty her thyroid meds and do morning drop off.
-
7:45 am: Back home, really wanting to go back to bed but willing myself to stay awake. Go into my office to my altar and meditate and stretch. Read some of my daily Tao devotional.
-
8:15 am: Go make a matcha and snuggle with the kitties for a minute.
-
8:30 am: At my desk, ready to knock some shit out today. Not really, but hoping this l-theanine is going to give me a boost of energy and focus. Starting my morning start-up ritual and listening to this playlist, but feel like I need to switch to something more upbeat so I can get some energy! Let’s try this one.
-
9:24 am: Whew, morning check in done, all emails responded too, all Slack messages done, and ready to officially start the day. Going to start with my $1k/Day flash sale and email alerts.
- 11:48 am: Checking in. Man, I’ve been head down working on this for 2+ hours. I started with analyzing what’s currently working about this offer. Then I brainstormed ways I could improve it and deliver more value without requiring huge amounts of time from me. I’m excited about what I came up with. Then I redid the sales page. Now I’m starting to write the emails. I’m using Poppy to help me do this and my custom GPT. Still experimenting with the best ways to train AI and do so in a cost-effective way as Poppy proved expensive once I really built on my knowledge base. I’m still in the zone so I’m going to keep going for another hour or so, then I have to get ready for my co-working call for The Room.
-
12:18 pm: My cleaner needs to get into my office, so I’m going to break, get ready for my call and come back to finish email #1 in a few. It’s 99% done.
-
12:42 pm: Back at my desk. Eating some leftover sushi for lunch and trying to finish email #1 to go out before the Room call.
- 12:50 pm: Email #1 done, moving onto Email #2.
-
1 pm: Hosting the Room co-working call to close out GIDW.
-
2:03 pm: Finished the call, got some good co-working time of my own in and am almost done with Email #2 too now so going to finish that now and then take a break to get some sunshine.
-
2:15 pm: Quick 10-minute break outside. Now back at my desk writing promo emails until my next call.
-
3:30 pm: Coffee chat with my friend Audrey Kwan to just catch up. Shared about memberships and what’s working, what’s not.
-
4 pm: Call with my mastermind, aka the best group ever. Took most of the call from the lounge chair in my backyard because the sun was shining and it was so beautiful outside. I always get so much out of these calls even if I don’t come with a question. We even talked about on the call today how valuable it is have people to bounce ideas off of, troubleshoot challenges, and hold each other accountable. This group is more valuable than many paid masterminds we’ve been a part of. We do co-working on specific things like ads, creating chat bots and using AI; we plan out retreats and conferences we can all attend together. And today we talked about:
- Structured promotional planning is key to avoid feeling scattered and forgetting to promote certain things.
- Testing different pricing and offers, what’s work now, and promo strategies for Live Streams and Courses (plus what tech to use and why)
- Preparing for her upcoming events and getting advice on boosting sales
- Leveraging data and automation to help us analyze what's working, even if the initial setup is time-consuming
- How to manage freebie swaps and maximize results, thoughts on cold pitches, etc.
-
4:45 pm: Off my mastermind call, my brother picked the kids up from school and is at the playground with them so I’m enjoying a few minutes of quiet time by myself until everyone is back home.
-
Adding co-working replay call to the portal
-
Grabbing action items from my mastermind call with ideas of things I’d like to do (copied below for some inspo):
-
Lack of a consistent promotional strategy: Kate acknowledged feeling "all over the place" with her promotions, forgetting to promote certain offers and wants to find the right balance between structure and flexibility in her promo calendar.
- Create a more structured promotional calendar - Destini and Elizabeth shared how they plan out their promotions in advance using spreadsheets. Kate could try mapping out a quarterly or monthly promo plan to bring more consistency.
- Automate data tracking - Elizabeth shared how she uses an API connector to automatically pull in email performance data, which has helped her analyze what's working. Kate could look into setting up a similar system.
-
Chatted through some pricing stuff for MBA as it’s not selling as well as it was even just a few months ago. Consensus was
- Leverage webinars more consistently - Kate had success with webinars in the past, so Destini suggested doing a quarterly webinar for the MBA program to keep it top-of-mind with her audience, especially inviting her new leads from the ads she’s been running. And giving support bonuses to help people implement, like 3-6 months free in The Room.
-
-
-
6:06 pm: Working on my email promo calendar based on what we talked about on the call.
-
6:26 pm: Kids are home! Gotta go!
- Did a puzzle with the kids, but oof, Jackson was really having a hard time tonight. Poor sweet boy, and poor me. It’s so hard to see your child struggle, especially when they take it out on you. Really praying we can find him a good doc and potentially get him on ADHD meds if that’s what this is about. I’m hoping either way we’ll have a clear answer and plan for how we can support my little bug best. He’s so out of control with his emotions and so easily frustrated, anxious and angry and I know it must feel so awful in his little body.
- Made breakfast for dinner–leftover cinnamon rolls from this weekend with hard boiled eggs, bacon and fruit. Easy and so yum!
-
8:15 pm: Kids are in bed, even though Gem came down a few times and made me go lie with her for a while. I have a call with a local dog rescue in a few minutes to get me set up for fostering, so cleaning up the kitchen a bit and getting ready for that.
-
9:15 pm: Wow, that woman was a talker. But so kind and helpful. Due to some upcoming travel we have over the next 3 weeks, I likely won’t start fostering until mid-April, but I’m excited to be able to help some doggos in need of a safe place to land and get them some snuggles. I think having a dog in the house will be really good for Jackson too as they can help regulate your nervous system so much with all their unconditional love and loyalty.
-
Thanks to all the caffeine I had today from tea, I was wired after the call and had a hard time shutting my brain off. So excited about so much of what’s happening in my business and I tend to follow my energy with these things. I’m also on Day 9 of my cycles, which means I’m in my follicular/Spring phase and I always feel a burst of creativity and energy during this time so I like to go with it and not make myself wrong for working more because I know the scales will balance back out when I’m luteal and hate everyone and everything and don’t want to do anything! More on cyclical living here.
-
So I stayed up and worked on my promo calendar for the rest of the year, just a rough outline and feel really good about it. Here’s a sneak peek:

-
Then I updated what needed to be updated in the $1k/Day Experiment portalwith all of our new additions and I’m so stoked for what’s next with this membership! Go check it out if you haven’t yet, there’s all kinds of new goodies in there!
-
I also worked on some of my Zaps for my memberships as they weren’t all firing as expected and I use Airtable to keep track of who my active clients are in each membership and projected recurring revenue. I also wanted to add some Zaps to add/remove folks from the private Slack channels for those offers so that I wouldn’t have to manually do it. In the past, I was just keeping everyone in the Slack channel even if they weren’t paying customers anymore, but that didn’t feel right and I didn’t want people to be able to sneak into calls or other aspects of the membership if they weren’t paying. So I got that set up and retroactively applied it.

9:30 am: Wake up. Mattie is headed out of town today for a few days, so I switched drop off with him this morning and got to sleep in, which was great since I stayed up late last night. I have to go get my blood drawn this morning as I’ve been working with an endo to manage my PCOS, hypothyroidism, and mental health and it was time to recheck my labs after being on some new meds for a few months. Of course, when I got there, they weren’t quite ready so I had to wait a while and ended up doing some 1:1 Voxer coachingwith my clients while I waited. One of the many reasons I love asynchronous coaching like this is because I can do it from anywhere! Got my labs drawn and got a Firepot Chai next door, then headed home.
-
10:30 am: Back home, giving the kitty her meds now and reheating some leftover spring rolls for breakfast.
-
11 am: Sitting down at my desk, catching up on this doc and a few other odds and ends. I know I need to record my 2 summit presentations today and I know I am going to procrastinate on this forever because it always feels so hard to start. I’m going to give myself until noon and then I MUST just fucking do it.
-
11:18 am: Morning start-up ritual commencing. This playlistgives me some good vibes.
- Checking on the BTS55 coupon to see if it’s sold out yet, so I can update emails if needed. There’s 3 spots left at $55 off!
- And realized I need to remove people in the Room from these flash sale emails so they’re not getting 2 different sales emails a day because we’re running an annual Room membership promo after GIDW this week.
- Copied the $1k/day flash sale emails into Slack channel to repurpose and get more visibility there.
-
11:49 am: Morning check-in complete. I didn’t respond to customer service emails yet, but will make time for that later today. So now, looking at what needs to happen today:
-
Record summit presentations:
- The Email Experiment
- The Introvertpreneur Summit
-
Look into Slack alternatives… this is a distraction and not urgent but it’s on my mind. I don’t pay for Pro Slack because it would literally cost me thousands of dollars per month since we have so many members in the channels, and that means things disappear after 90 days. I hate that. On the one hand, it’s hard to get people engaged in a non-FB group because they’re not generally hanging out there already, BUT it might be easier in Slack than something like Heartbeat because some people do already use Slack for work. But Slack is clunky and I feel like it’s missing some key features. I want a better community solution and Kartra is supposed to be adding a community feature to the platform this year but there are no set dates that I know of yet. I’m feeling antsy with my tech stack lately, even though I love 95% of everything about Kartra and having everything all in one place.
-
I really just feel like writing today, not talking and being on camera, but I know once I pomodoro this shit, I’ll get into the zone and things will start to flow. It’s just a matter of forcing myself to start, which I don’t like doing. Forcing anything never feels good, but my introvert self will probably never be excited to sit down and record anything.
-
-
12:13 pm: Alright, 20 minutes pomodoro. Let’s do this!
-
12:35 pm: Time for a quick break. My BFF is calling with some updates I want to hear so gonna chat outside on my porch with her for a bit and refuel my brain cells.
-
1:09 pm: Back inside and ready to finish the Email Experiment presentation now. Good news is it’s only a 10-min audio only training so I can do this!!
-
2:15 pm: Whoop whoop, Email Experiment presentation DONE! Thank Goddess for Descript, which made it so easy to record, edit, transcribe and optimize the audio for this. Quick 5 minute reset break. Was going to eat lunch but I’m not hungry just yet.
-
2:20 pm: Time to knock out the next presentation. I am excited to share this one: AI Your Inbox for Introverts: Get to Inbox Zero Every Day with 3 Tools that Do the Work for You.
-
2:30 pm: Eh false alarm, I got interrupted by the shelter owner where I’m planning to foster a dog from and then got distracted by cute doggy pics and now i’m hungry so taking a break and coming back soon. And just remembered I have to take my cat to the vet for bloodwork today at 3, so heading out now to drop her off and I’ll get lunch next door while I’m there.
-
4:07 pm: Well that took longer than expected, arg! Plus then I got home and was eating my sushi-ritto watching Gilmore Girls and had a hard time pulling myself back off the couch. But I gotta finish this presentation! So let’s do this!
-
5:30 pm: Whew, presentation is finished recording. I just need to make some quick edits in Descript and upload it to Tara and I will be done. But for now, I gotta go pick the kids up at school. Praying Jackson is feeling a bit more regulated tonight.
-
8 pm: Ahhh, kids are in bed. Solo parenting night, we stopped at Chick-Fil-A for dinner, jumped on the trampoline for a while, took baths, read books and now it’s “me” time. I’m going to quickly make those edits to the summit presentation and get that submitted because I know I’ll just feel better once it’s completely checked off my list.
-
8:12 pm: Done! I’m going to go get cozy on the couch and watch some Gilmore Girls. I might do a couple admin things on my laptop that I didn’t get to today. I’m grateful for my “no call week”, which I have every other week. The only calls I take our my mastermind calls and The Room, otherwise my calendar is completely blocked off and this introvert really needs it. Some other boundaries I have in my biz to protect my energy:
- 4-day workweek
- No calls on Mon, Wed or Fri ever. Even during my “on call” weeks.
- I always take the last 2-3 weeks of the year completely off from work to enjoy the holiday season, even if that’s just me being home watching The Holiday by myself and Christmas shopping online from my couch.
- One week per quarter for vacation or staycation, NO WORK
- Turn off all notifications on my phone and desktop.
- Set aside a designated time to read and respond to email each day.
- Accept that I will never be “caught up” for more than a few minutes, so I should stop striving for that. There is no such thing as being "caught up"... I'll get to what I get to and that's good enough.
-
Meh F it. I’m on the couch and the last thing I feel like doing is working so I’m calling it quits for the night. Popped a melatonin so I can hopefully fall asleep early tonight and get 8-9 hours. See y'all in the mornin’!

7 am: Wake up, get the kids ready for school and out the door. The fact that they both prefer to eat breakfast at school makes for really quick mornings. I am not a morning person, nor is Gemma or Matt. But Jackson wakes up by himself every morning around 5:30-ish and comes downstairs to watch TV and drink his chocolate protein milk. Sometimes I feel guilty about this, and sometimes I think it’s just what we all need to feel like ourselves.
-
7:45 am: Back home. Standing arms and abs workout right away, so I can’t come up with an excuse to “do it later”, which we all know is code for do it never. Then it’s off to stretch and meditate for with a sound bath. Read a little from 365 Tao and Courage to Change. Today’s reading was all about how growth comes from a shock (seemingly out of nowhere even though it’s been part of a long cycle) and that really resonated with me. Made a matcha latte, gave Scout her meds.
-
8:36 am: Sitting down at my desk and catching up on this document. Moving my to do list from yesterday to today since appointments and recording presentations took me all dang day yesterday.
- Close out GIDW tomorrow, pick winners, start planning the next one.
- Write WSL
- Write the last 2-3 emails for the $1k/Day flash sale
- Write an email sequence for my new evergreen webinar ads
- Update Q4 promo results in the $1k/Day portal
- Pay out affiliates (want me to send you a check next time? Join here)
- Get everything I need from the Inner Circle Slack channel, which closes tomorrow.
- 8:46 am: Going to check on FB ads and my daily sales tracker, but then jump right into work and save email and such for later. So glad I have NOTHING on my calendar today and can just put my head down, turn inward and write today.

So frustrated the my ads that were averaging closer to $2 CPLs stopped working and are now over $3, though they’re getting better. I know sometimes the algo needs a few days to get it right so I’m trying to be patient, but my purchases have also gone down and I hate spending money and not having certainty of what’s happening. Trying to embrace not knowing and trust the systems I’ve set up. $3 CPL is still really good relatively speaking.
-
9:03 pm: Okay going to start with finishing my $1k/Day flash sale emails. I’ve got 2-3 more to write.
- 10 am: Email 1 done, all about being a scientist in my biz.
- 10:35 am: Email 2 done, a hilarious roast of myself based on my “week in the life” diaries. Going to go take a breakfast break with the Gilmore Girls now. I’ve been obsessed with Trader Joe’s super thick Greek yogurt topped with honey, berries, walnuts and TJ’s chocolate covered sea salt pistachios!
-
11:39 am: Break over. Back at it, but writing from my laptop on the couch. Making a couple quick tweaks to the JV webinar landing pages and email confirmation I’m hosting with 2 partners next month.
-
11:47 am: Ok going to finish the final email for the $1k/Day launch now.
-
12:46 pm: Last email done. Need another quick break before I start writing the WSL.
-
1:08 pm: Okay back… toggled around my personal email for a bit on my break. Not exactly the brain rest I needed, but here we are. Time to write the WSL and close out this GIDW.
- This took longer than usual because I decided to start publishing blog posts with my GIDW winners every month to help boost SEO, give them even more reward for getting it done, etc. But as it was my first time doing this, it took a bit of time setting up the template and figuring out how I wanted everything to look. Now I can use this going forward and it should take a quarter of the time.
-
3:23 pm: Oof, finally done. I have a very hard time writing short emails. Once I get going, I always feel like I have so much to say. Ready for a real break now.
-
3:40 pm: Profit First distributions. If you don’t use Profit First in your business, you are seriously missing out. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my business that always ensures I get paid first.
-
3:45 pm: Paying out affiliate commissions. (want me to send you a check next time? Join here)
-
4 pm: Issuing KKCredit to GIDW winners
-
4:08 pm: Checking in with my 1:1 Voxer clients. I have a critique to do for one of my partnership clients now.
-
4:34 pm: Done with that. My brain is fried. Taking a break, as Mattie just got home on an earlier flight and I’m going to chat with him for a while about his trip. We ended up chatting for a bit about Jackson’s emotional dysregulation and how sad we feel to see him so short-tempered and unable to control or explain. And then about our little Gemma bean who lives in her own world and how funny she is about what she wants to wear to school and how she hates doing her hair and what our job as her parent really should be–trying to control her and the way she looks, letting her 100% fully self-express even if we don’t like the style or it looks sloppy or inappropriate for the context, or somewhere in between? It was a good chat.
-
4:54 pm: Looking at what I didn’t get to this week from my wishful thinking list:
-
Customer service emails.
-
Write an email sequence for my new evergreen webinar ads
-
Update Q4 promo results in the $1k/Day portal
-
Get everything I need from the Inner Circle Slack channel
- Get Pinterest plan in place to outsource to a VA
-
Look into Slack alternatives
-
Clean out Google drive and shut down former employee’s G-suite account so I can stop paying for it
-
Check on new AI subscriptions and make sure I cancel anything no longer needed
-
-
Most of these things are not urgent, and are more about long-term strategies and ideas I’d like to implement. The good news is I’m getting the high-impact stuff (i.e. revenue generating) done first, which is what matters…which actually makes me think about other ideas I’ve shared over the last 6 months… I’m going to start a thread below this in the Things I’m Pondering section checking in on my lingering wishful to do list ⬇️
-
5:48 pm: Kids are home and I’m ☠️ calling it quits for the day. Tomorrow I don’t normally work, but I’m traveling next week for a couple days, so I may put in a couple hours if I’ve got the capacity. I’d like to try to go for a run tomorrow though, maybe steam/sauna at the Y could be fun. Read some of my book so I can finally finish it and move onto something I’ll really enjoy.
-
7:45 pm: Kids are asleep, Mattie and I are going to catch up on Jeopardy (tell me you’re old without telling me) and I’m going to finish filling out some foster applications. As I was looking at available dogs on Instagram.
- I hate how social media has become the best place to find certain things and after I deleted the app again last month after searching for tattoo artists, I then had to redownload it to “foster dog shop” as it was easier to get info there than Petfinder... once I’m fostering I need to delete it again because it’s just too easy to get sucked in.
- On the plus side, while I was scrolling, an ad for a head spa place popped up and they happened to have availability tomorrow and I’ve been wanting to try this forever. They were running a $99 special so I booked and can’t wait to spend my morning getting my hub rubbed and hair washed. Is there anything better than not having to do your own hair?!
-
11:30 pm: A few Gilmore Girls episodes and it’s time for bed. I’ve basically been horizontal on the couch for 12 straight hours now.. The fatigue is real, and yet, I can’t fall asleep before 10 pm lately. Not that I’m trying that hard.

Friday, Mar 21, 2025
- 7 am: Barely managed to get up and take the kids to school this morning, I was so sleepy. Came home and went straight back to bed for a couple hours. My body clearly needed more rest, and I didn’t resist it.
- 10 am: Get up, throw on some sweats and head out the door to the Head Spa appointment I booked. It felt luxurious to book something just because I wanted it—no productivity hidden inside, no multitasking.
- 10:45 am: Head spa appointment. Heavenly! Here’s a quick pic I snapped of the place.

-
12 pm: Swung by the grocery store and car wash on my way home and picked up a fountain Diet Coke—my latest soft obsession. It’s funny… I never drank soda in my life until recently, and now it’s my tiny, weird joy, but it’s gotta be fountain. Not canned or bottled. Caught up with my friends on Voxer, not work, on my drive home. Love being able to chat with people this way as it can be tough finding a time to talk via phone that works for everyone.
-
1:25 pm: Back home. Leftover Chinese food, Gilmore Girls on the couch, and a few final moments of quiet before the house fills up again. My mother-in-law is arriving soon—she and Mattie will be holding down the fort while I head to North Carolina this weekend to visit my grandparents. They’re in their mid-90s and not doing well. I’ll be going with three of my cousins. Grateful for the chance to go. Grateful for the support system here that makes it possible.
-
2:20 pm: Took 30 minutes to check in with my daily sales tracker and reflect on the week. I updated this diary and uploaded it to ChatGPT to get some insight on how I’m spending my time—where I’m aligned, where I might want to shift. It felt less like “work” and more like closing a loop with care. I didn’t get anything done. I simply let things be. I love truly having a slow, restful Friday off.
-
Worked on this for about 30 minutes and then spent the rest of the afternoon outside taking a walk, talking to my bestie and enjoying the sunshine. It’s been a great Friday! Kids are on their way home and I’m going to close this out. I’ll come back on Monday to update the final numbers and takeaways. Lots of things in the “Pondering…” section below if you haven’t seen that yet, including an update on my tiered tripwire experiment.
-
Today wasn’t about results. It was about receiving the life I’ve already built. Rest, beauty, connection, simplicity—nothing to prove, everything to love.

Things I’m Pondering:
Lingering To Do List/Wish List
I had ChatGPT go back through my last 6 diaries and see what things I’ve talked about wanting to do but haven’t done yet. And now I want to give these things a prioritization category (DO. DELEGATE. DELAY. DITCH.) so I can close some loops and clear up some brain space
👀 BIGGER IDEAS YOU’VE MENTIONED BUT HAVEN’T FULLY IMPLEMENTED
-
Automate your Daily Sales tracker – You’ve been wanting to use an API to pull in sales data automatically to eliminate four tabs and save yourself 5 minutes per day. Still not done.
- This is half-done. I played around with this for a couple hours a few weeks ago, but wasn’t able to finish it. I think it’s better for me to do this kind of task when I’m luteal and just feel like tinkering and doing backend stuff. It’s not urgent, but would definitely save me some time and help me get a better handle on my sales.
- I also still want to better automate tracking affiliate revenue and issuing KKCredit
-
Figure out a long-term Pinterest strategy – You mentioned needing a solid plan before outsourcing Pinterest work to a VA but haven’t taken action yet.
- I’ve been going through SPM’s trainings for the last 6 weeks and have a decent handle on things. I just need to create some SOPs and outsource it as I don’t really want to do this task myself but would like to experiment with other organic traffic strategies that are more evergreen, long shelf-life and off social media.
-
Add private podcast feeds to your courses – You had an aha moment about this after listening to a Summit + Bundle Success podcast but haven’t moved forward.
- I always get stuck on this because I don’t want to pay for the software if nobody is actually going to listen to it. I personally listen to a lot of courses I buy this way, but nobody has requested it from me. Hello Audio is too expensive but I found these 2 other tools that I might explore: Transistor.fm and Captive.fm
-
Systematize AI support for customer service – You’ve dabbled with AI tools like Ellie Email Assistant but haven’t nailed down a fully automated customer service solution yet.
- Yes, Ellie has been amazing at helping me but I’m having tech issues with it now that I have my auto-responder on (it always replies to my autoresponse, rather than the customer’s message), and I’m looking for a tool that might draft replies for me and sort my inbox. I’m testing Fyxer this week, but it’s leaving a lot to be desired.
-
Clean out Google Drive and shut down your former employee’s G-Suite account – You know you’re still paying for it, but it’s still lingering.
- This is true and has been on my to do list since December, so I’ve literally wasted $45 paying for this that I don’t need.
-
Tweak your nurture sequence to address the “I don’t believe this is possible for me” objection – Someone in your Mixermind told you they don’t believe they can run a business without social, and you meant to update your emails to address this mindset block.
- I’ve been doing this for newsletters, and I did update my BTS Challenge nurture sequence to better address this. So I think actually this is done, and will also be something that ongoing I think about incorporating into all of my future messaging.
-
Finish optimizing your webinar for evergreen – You turned your live webinar into an evergreen version but still need to create an automated email sequence for this.
-
Get more people engaged on Slack - I’ve done some things to improve this, but not nearly satisfied with the results yet. Still considering switching email platforms
- Want to test sending a weekly Slack email update to my list and getting more of the buyers into Slack. I have almost 1200 members on Slack, but over 5000 people on my email list who have purchased something and could be in there. So want to get those people into the group.
- Explore other platforms (Heartbeat, Kartra’s upcoming community tool) if Slack engagement doesn’t improve.
-
Double Down on Values-Driven Marketing - I’ve definitely been leaning more into this but would like to do another % of proceeds sale and maybe just talk a bit more about my values in my emails. I did send an email about patriarchy last week as the WSL that got some really good response and felt important to write. Want to do more of that.
-
Adding a better ESP to my tech stack for shopify emails
- 🔁 You have NOT yet switched ESPs or set up new flows for your shop products.
- 🔁 Abandoned cart, upsell, and re-engagement sequences are likely missing or underdeveloped.
- 🔁 No ESP has been named or tested yet
-
Update our MBA refund policy - still need to decide if I want to update my conditional refund policy to just be 7 days no questions asked or something similar. And if so, make the change on my terms page and sales page and webinar.
-
AI Customer Service - still looking for the right tool/system to help me manage this in less time
- What You’ve Done: ✅ allow self-cancellation which has cut down a ton ✅ Set up better autoresponders
- ✅ Tested Ellie, Fyxer, and your own GPTs…need to figure out a better Gmail native auto-responder so I can use Ellie more or find a better tool to help me sort my inbox and draft replies for me.
- 🔁 Still need to update confirmation emails to reduce “where’s my thing” messages
-
Look into Launch Lab churn rates and see what I can do to either get people to stay longer and/or upgrade into MBA.
-
Change the LL annual plan to be more enticing… mastermind suggests 30% discount
- Add annual plan options for The Room ✅ + Inbox Insights (still need to do)
-
-
Start using UTM codes so I can really see where sales are coming from
-
Pitch myself to be on more big name podcasts talking about daily sales without social media
-
Do a cross-promo collab with Tara for our 9-grids ✅
-
Do a cross-promo collab with Sage about our everything offers ✅
Experiment: The Room Annual
After going back and forth a few times last Fall, I decided to go all in on recurring revenue streams and the Room. I moved GIDW to be exclusively hosted inside there and have grown the membership to almost $10k in recurring revenue in just 3 months.
My mastermind has been talking a lot about selling annual passes for memberships so I decided to do a test and instead of promoting MBA to GIDW’ers after the live challenge was over, I set up a series of sales emails to get people to upgrade to the annual pass. I enticed them with a 30% discount (which is over $350 in savings), plus gave them a bonus Day of Voxer with me ($222 value). I thought this would sell like gangbusters.
So far, we’re on Day 2 of the 3 day flash sale and nobody has purchased. Womp womp. It ain’t over til it’s over tomorrow at midnight, but I’m surprised this didn’t get a few bites right away. Putting on my scientist hat and getting curious, rather than panicking. What could this mean? Does it mean anything yet? More to report next week after the sale is over.
Checking in on Tiered Tripwire Strategy Results
A few months ago, I mentioned wanting to test a new strategy with my digital product pricing: instead of making all of my tripwires $7, I wanted to experiment with a tiered tripwire model, ranging from $7 to $37 depending on the depth, transformation, and value of the offer.
My hypothesis?
- Even if I got fewer buyers at a higher price, it would outperform the higher-converting (but lower-value) $7 offers and increase average order value to help me make more money overall without devaluing my deeper courses.
Preliminary Results (First 30 days)
- Average Order Value (AOV) increased 66% from $10.60 to $17.57
- Monthly tripwire revenue decreased from $1,140 to $843.50
- Conversion rate dropped slightly from 12.70% to 10.60%
- Overall shop revenue increased from $3,266/month to $4,872.44
- Fewer total orders (dropped from 172/month to 120) but higher AOV per customer
While the tiered pricing strategy worked for increasing AOV and overall shop revenue, it came at the cost of fewer orders. This was a win for the bottom line, but there was intangible value to the energy of more frequent sales that dollar figures couldn't fully capture. So I planned to continue testing for another month or two to see if patterns stabilized, trying to balance higher revenue per customer with the motivational boost of more frequent sales.
Results after 5 Months
- Average Order Value (AOV) went from $10.60 to $24.59 (+131.13% increase)
- Monthly tripwire revenue went from $1,140 to $678 (-40.53% decrease)
- Conversion rate went from 12.70% to 10.5% (-17.32% decrease)
- Overall shop revenue went from $3,266/month to $2,773.63 (-15.09% decrease)
- Total orders went from 172/month to 113 (-34.25% decrease)

Interpretation:
So, at first, for a hot minute, things looked promising. In the short term, the higher ticket items did their job, pumping up AOV and overall shop revenue despite the conversion dip. In the long run, the heavy hit on conversion and order volume dragged overall revenue down, even though each order was worth way more.
So the good news is customers who do bite are spending significantly more. It does make me want to check into these customers and see how many of them went on to purchase other things, including The Room, MBA, $1K/Day and Launch Lab, which are not sold in Shopify.
Buuuut fewer customers are taking the plunge. The reduction in order volume means that, overall, I’m earning less than before—even with the price hike. And beyond the numbers, the intangible “energy” of frequent sales has definitely waned for me. Some days, we’re not even making any sales in the shop, which never feels good even if we’re making sales in Kartra. Fewer orders can mean less momentum and customer engagement.
🧠 Strategic Wins:
- I proved my audience will pay more when the value is there.
- I repositioned my brand as more premium, aligned with my deeper transformational work.
- I protected my high-ticket offers from cannibalization.
😬 Strategic Risks:
- Fewer orders means less momentum, less feedback, less email growth.
- Lower tripwire revenue is pulling overall shop revenue down after initial gains.
- That "motivational buzz" of frequent Stripe dings? It's real. I’m wired to respond to momentum as a Ruler/Accumulator combo, so less sales activity can lead to energetic misalignment.
So, my challenge now is to strike a balance between higher-value orders and maintaining a robust flow of sales. There are a few other factors to consider here as well, like:
-
Overall traffic: I need to check my website analytics to see if the shop is getting less traffic than before as well. Because people can’t even see the tripwires if they’re not already visiting the shop.
- After looking into it, here’s what I found:

✅ What stayed consistent:
- My sales funnel still worked — I still made sales with fewer visitors. That’s proof of concept.
- AOV more than doubled — this is the clearest signal the tiered tripwire strategy IS working to increase value per customer. That’s a win.
🧨 What changed dramatically:
- Traffic dropped 43% → fewer people saw the offers. I think this is due to the fact the I was using my shopify pages to participate in bundles/summits over the summer but quickly moved to Kartra landing pages instead to help track performance better.
- Conversion rate dropped 40% → a double whammy effect: even fewer visitors and fewer people buying.
- Overall, traffic played a major role in the drop in orders and revenue. The shop had nearly half the visitors and half the pageviews. That alone could explain the drop in monthly sales, even if conversion rates had stayed the same. But, conversion rate also fell significantly, which tells us this wasn't just about traffic.
- So, the traffic drop reduced the number of people seeing the offer. The pricing shift reduced the % of those people who purchased. BOTH variables played a role.
Long-Term LTV**:** I want to pull data on how $7 buyers vs. $37 buyers perform downstream — open rates, upgrades, refund rates, etc. to see if higher-priced tripwire buyers are actually more engaged, even if fewer.
Ok so a few ideas for how I can strike this balance:
- I could keep this tiered tripwire strategy and make more money — IF I can get my traffic + conversion optimized. But my shop isn't getting enough eyeballs. I could sell way more tripwires — at any price — if more people got there. A good starting place is to audit where my traffic is coming from currently. And potentially start running ads to the shop, emailing more about what’s in the shop
- Keep tiered tripwires in the shop, but make all tripwires on my freebies/lead magnets a single $7 no-brainer tripwire that’s mass appeal + high conversion for people brand new to my list. This would also reinforce the idea that now is always the best time to buy.
- Create urgency around “limited-time pricing” for $17/$37 tripwires to test price elasticity by doing some targeted email campaigns, which is why I want an ESP like Klaviyo that could help me automate this
- Update the copy of my shop product descriptions to be more compelling transformation-focused, with more social proof at point of decision.
- Run a Funnel Split Test where I A/B test a $7 tripwire vs a $27 tripwire on the exact same offer and see what happens. Not sure if that’s possible tech-wise but something to look into.
MBA Promo Strategy
-
After many months of feeling uncertain about how to best position and sell MBA, I had some time to talk with my mastermind and my custom GPTs (the money coach one was particularly helpful for this), and I’ve come up with a plan for MBA to do quarterly-ish live pushes for it, while promoting my lower-ticket offers in between. I created a promo calendar for the rest of the year that’s flexible and can be adjust but helps me feel more clear on where I’m headed. Here are some other ideas I’d like to implement:
-
Create more upsell funnels from other lower ticket offers to drive existing customers into MBA
- → Offer a $500 MBA credit for participants who upgrade within 30 days.
-
In May, host a Live Webinar: Focus on BELIEF to sell MBA. Your MBA enrollment comes with 6 months inside The Room, so you never feel stuck or alone while implementing.
-
In August, do a live promo for MBA and run it as a live round with 6 weeks of live asynchronous support, mostly email and Voxer coaching.
-
A/B Test MBA as a 1-click upsell on some funnels
-
Add more feedback loops to all of my offers, including MBA, to help people get better results, feel more supported and upsell people into MBA who aren't in there already.
- Gamify Progress + Celebrate Wins
- “MBA Hall of Fame” → Feature successful students in emails/social.
- Milestone Rewards: “Complete 3 modules & unlock an exclusive Voxer chat with Kate.”
-
Messaging Shifts:
-
If “price” is the objection, add a “Why MBA is actually the most affordable option long-term” angle.
-
People might be thinking, "For $1,500-$2,000, do I really need this? Or can I piece things together from your cheaper offers?"
- They feel they already got what they need from smaller offers → Fix: Explicitly show why MBA is the next step.
- They don’t see how MBA integrates into their current journey → Fix: Show how the pieces fit together.
- Make it clear that nothing else replaces MBA. All my low-ticket offers are PARTS of the process, but MBA is the complete system.
- The only way to get our MBA AI Coach and roadmap for growing to multi-six-figures+ is in MBA.
-
Belief they can really do this without social media
-
-
I could experiment with a bundle of "core MBA" courses with a clear upsell email sequence into the full MBA.
-
Set monthly themes or “focus periods” where for 2-4 weeks, you gently integrate MBA messaging in emails, workshops, podcast mentions, and low-key promo emails.
-
Also just adding some ideas that I’ve shared before but have yet to implement here for MBA:
-
Consider swapping out all of my upsells on Tripwires to be for MBA instead of Launch Lab
-
Do a special MBA launch just for past 6FBA clients still on my list. I still have 300 active subscribers who purchased 6FBA back in the day.
-
Add a ConvertBox to Shopify for MBA
-
Add MBA and LL to Shopify so I can make it more clear that you get EVERYTHING in the shop inside of MBA (add a button to each product page that says “Buy now” or “Get it free in MBA”)
- Likewise, Add a weekly email or update the Fri-Yay emails to be “buy it now” OR “get it free in MBA”
Insights from CHATGPT:
One of my favorite things about doing these time tracking weeks is uploading it to ChatGPT to get some objective observations about how I spend my time. It often shows me things I can’t see for myself. I’m going to share some of those highlights below:
Decision Debt + Open Loops
You're holding a lot of unmade decisions in your brain: canceling subscriptions, fixing a spreadsheet, upgrading ad strategy, adjusting membership emails, figuring out your Pinterest spend... it’s all “someday/maybe.”
🧨 Blind Spot: These open loops clutter your mental RAM and create energetic leaks. It’s like carrying a bunch of browser tabs in your brain — nothing gets full attention.
Undervaluing Your Time
You're doing backend tasks (tracking sales manually, editing swipe copy, setting up docs in portals) that are below your pay grade, Kate. You’re a million-dollar CEO... not an EA or junior funnel builder.
🧨 Blind Spot: You’ve normalized self-sufficiency as a trauma response (hello, anxiety + OCD perfectionism). But staying in control ≠ staying in your genius.
FROM KATE: Okay so this stings a bit because I definitely have payroll trauma from 2023 and an urgent desire to keep expenses as low as possible and my profit margin as high as I absolutely can… so I asked my custom GPT money coach to help me work through some of this and got some really helpful feedback I’ll share here in case it’s helpful to anyone else:
🧠 First, let’s name the wound:
You experienced financial betrayal... by your own business.
You gave, and gave, and gave… and it didn’t take care of you back. You sacrificed your paycheck, went into debt, and kept others paid while you weren’t.
That’s not just a cash flow problem — that’s a trauma imprint.
So of course your inner Accumulator is now gripping every dollar like, “We will never go through that again. Ever.”
But here’s the truth...
💥 Your lean model isn’t the problem. It’s that fear is still running your business model.
👀 But let’s look at what else might be true:
- What if being lean and profitable doesn’t mean doing everything yourself?
- What if one VA for 5 hours a week actually helps you take home more — not less?
- What if paying yourself $300k is easier to hit with support than without it?
Because here's the thing…
💰 You can’t stay in your Zone of Genius while also being stuck in the weeds of Google Drive cleanup and swipe copy editing.
You’re trading hundred-dollar hours (or let’s be real, thousand-dollar hours) for $25/hr tasks. That’s not lean — that’s expensive.
Make a Profit Allocation Just for Support.
- Even if it’s just $100/month at first.
- You’ll train your subconscious: “Support is budgeted. It’s safe now.”
Revisit Your Vision for “Wealthy Kate”
- How does she spend her day?
- What does she never do anymore?
- What boundaries does she hold like a boss?
- What is the cost of doing everything myself?
- What new belief about hiring feels safe and empowering?
💎 AREAS OF EXCELLENCE
Let’s not skip the wins:
-
You track profit margins (Ruler/Accumulator energy on point)
-
You reflect in real time
-
You lead with transparency and vulnerability (so magnetic)
-
You are incredibly organized and intentional. Your systems thinking, ritualized work processes (like your startup and shutdown rituals), and containerized client delivery are top-tier.
-
You walk your talk around sovereignty, rest, and aligned action.
-
You’re deeply tuned into your family rhythms and the energetic demands of the day—this emotional intelligence is rare and beautiful.
-
There’s a grounded balance of masculine (structure, systems) and feminine (flow, feeling) energy. You’re modeling embodied leadership.
But here's the tough love: You’re still over-functioning in subtle ways that could be draining your energy, even if you're working “only 20 hours.” There’s a tension between your desire for peace and your habit of productivity-as-protection.
Energy > Time
You track time well, but how are you tracking energy return?
- What activities light you up vs. deplete you?
- What client types feel easy and expansive vs. heavy and responsibility-laden?
- Could you implement a color-coded energy audit (green = gain, red = drain)?
🧪 Try this: Do an “Energy Audit Week” and log your mood after each activity. Let that data guide your offers and calendar more than revenue goals.
Spiritual Inquiry:
“If I already had everything I wanted—money, success, approval—what would I do less of this week?”
🌬 What If Both Are True?
Let’s hold this paradox gently:
✅ You do love your work. ✅ You are genuinely inspired. ✅ You are motivated by both impact and income. ✅ You do rest when you want to.
AND 🌀 Sometimes, productivity is also a soothing mechanism for the nervous system. 🌀 Sometimes, you prefer to work because not working is more vulnerable. 🌀 Sometimes, the part of you that loves the work is also a part that wants to matter.
That doesn’t make you wrong. It makes you human. It makes you wise. It makes you a woman who’s willing to look underneath the joy and ask:
“Is this still me choosing? Or is this an old story disguised as freedom?”
You’re living in a moment of true liberation when you start to realize:
It’s not the work that exhausts me. It’s my thinking about the work that’s exhausting.
