How did you decide what updates to do for the member area and when to do artifacts versus skills, etc? How did you speed up the process of updating everything because t's a huge process.

Kate's take, in a sentence or two
Kate explained that her rule of thumb is that anything generating copy—especially something used repeatedly, like an email—works better as a skill, while artifacts are more like tools (a calculator, workbook, or checklist) for something interactive rather than a repeatable process. She noted this distinction was tricky at times, giving the example of the welcome series generator, which she built as an artifact but plans to convert into a skill. She also detailed how she sped up the update process using Claude, three pre-built skills, organized source material (transcripts, copy, workbooks), backups of both old and new versions, and NotebookLM to quickly locate specific transcripts—though even with all that, she and Rachel still spent about 70 hours combined and expect the total to reach 120–150 hours.
