Hi Kate, just read your email about the PNAS Nexus study... Did you ever go through a phase of trying to post but not scroll? (To try and get the 'positives' / outreach for your business without losing any of the rest of your life to it) Thanks so much! PS your porch is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Kate's take, in a sentence or two
Kate says she never fully did the "post but don't scroll" approach—she used app limits early on and often hired others to manage her Instagram, but when she quit social media marketing, she just deleted the app entirely. Now she runs ads instead of organic content because she believes organic reach is basically dead (down to 2-6%) and because ads let her get business results without the constant content-creation and engagement treadmill—she literally ran the same ad all year with just minor tweaks. She acknowledges it's a bit of a moral dilemma to fund Meta, but rationalizes it like buying a billboard: she's using the platform to reach people (even with an anti-social-media message) without actually participating in it herself.
