All office hours
01 · The question

I was reading your diaries about why you changed office hours from Wednesdays to Tuesdays. You mentioned that on Mondays you catch up and do admin work and you want to use Wednesdays for writing and deep work. I have two questions: 1. What specific tasks do you do on Mondays and on Wednesdays and why. 2. I was wondering, when you have the whole day available for deep work and no meetings or calls, how do you stay focused and productive and how do you manage your time. Thank you

Kate's take, in a sentence or two

Kate said figuring out her weekly rhythm—batching by energy type rather than context-switching—is what let her run a multi-6-figure business in under 20 hours a week without burning out. She structures her week intentionally: Monday for admin/re-entry (like a "preflight checklist"), Tuesday for client calls, and Wednesday as a fully protected no-call day for deep writing work, since her data showed no-call days are far more productive. On wide-open focus days, she leans into her actual chronobiology (never starting deep work before 10am), uses Pomodoro timers mainly to force herself to *start* rather than stop, sets the mood with instrumental playlists, and embraces "horizontal productivity" (working from the couch) since her body needs comfort for her brain to focus.
