Referring to your recent ' I have zero ways to use any of my testimonials' post (migrating off Senja to BlockBuilder) ... probably a very naive question BUT are Google Reviews still a (valuable and/or worthwhile) thing that you use? Why/why not? And, would love to hear more of your thoughts unpacking this too pretty please ... anonymize their testimonials so they feel more comfortable. And having a clear terms page that explains how you use testimonials. Keen to know how this works for your business with Blockbuilder. I love all your questions in your monthly check in forms in our programs, great suppory there.
Kate's answer
Kate's take, in a sentence or two
Kate said she doesn't personally emphasize Google reviews since she's not a local business, though she believes they're still very relevant for local businesses like the one she was asked about—though she admitted that's outside her expertise. On anonymizing testimonials, she said she doesn't do this herself but suggested it for people with sensitive niches, using clients' exact words with a fake name or label like "member" instead of real identifying details; she noted this might dilute social proof slightly, but also mused that testimonials are already somewhat mistrusted these days, so anonymizing may not hurt much. She explained that her own approach is to have a terms and conditions clause allowing her to pull and share testimonials from forms, calls, and community posts without asking permission each time, and mentioned she'll be demonstrating how she collects, organizes, and auto-displays testimonials using Claude, Airtable, and Block Builder in an upcoming session.
